Q: Is the pair of hair wraps/ties leather or suede? i do not want suede, only a smooth leather. also, can i get them in pale tan for blonde hair?

The wrap is smooth both sides--the lace is one-side rough.

Q: Is it ok to get these wet?

Well like shoes if you treat them with a leather protector I think that would work. Washington is wet and I wear them all the time. Just to stay soft use something leather can dry out and get stiff.

Similar item, YES! it's called a Hair Glove. Lots of styles and fabrics and lengths including leather and suede and neoprene (for swimming). They have a website. I own at least 20 in various lengths and material. I wear them to keep my hair from getting tangled when I ride on the back of my husband's Harley.
