Other Bench dogs are not just more expensive, they are hard to get where I live. I even got a quote from a CNC shop, for the price of 3, I got 16.They are precision made and- Shaft is 19.78mm, avg on ALL 16 is 19.7725 with a max of 19.81 and a min of 19.72 (25/32", Avg -0.003")- Head is even better, variation in diameter is 0.0015 and -.0005, again, within all 16 dogs.- The plates are not parallel, but width variation is the 0.05mm rangeIn my experience, these tolerances in woodworking are more than enough.The screw on IS wobbly but I would expect that from a non-precision screw that, as I understand, has a function only to raise the part.I did read the issues with the non-standard shaft dimension, but I can't comment on that because I'll make the holes with a CNC so I will design them to fit my set.

I've never seen a more versatile package of Bench Dogs than these. Well constructed and has CNC Precision accuracy, I expect many years of service. Clear Style has evidently taken their time to produce such a product with such accuracy, and has tried to think of all of the situations that the bench dogs could be used for. Bravo my friends, I will be exploring your Store Front thoroughly. I am anxious to see what products you manufacture in the future. Packaging and speed of delivery was spot on. The media could not be loaded. I want to address some complaints I read in the comments. The description above states that these bench dogs "fit 0.78-0.8in holes". Clearly, this does not mean that these are 20mm dogs (they are sold as inches), so the vendor is not being deceptive. 20mm converts to 0.7874in – I measured all the dogs and mine are very precise at 0.782in or 19.87mm as you can see from the photos. So, the dogs are just 0.0054mm under 20mm (a human hair is between 0.06-0.08mm for reference).But, I'm giving this product 4 stars for the extended stops (check out the video showing the slop in the extended stops). Basically, the tolerance of the threaded riser is awful. It wobbles back and forth when extended. As you can see from the photo, the riser deflects about 2mm (0.078in) when extended just 1/2 way. This whole issue could be resolved with better machined threads.

i'm using this on a diy mft slab made with a jig. My holes are a hair oversized than normal festool holes,one quick even wrap of tape and have a snug fit. I have some other dogs (veritas maybe i can't recall) that fit similiar to these as well, i'd imagine on a cnc'd mft table or factory table they be as good as any other brand.

I wanted to have some extra dogs to make it easier to work without having to move dogs around constantly. In addition, I was looking for some reasonably priced woodworking items of good quality to give as gifts. I received my Clear Style Dogs today and they exceeded my expectations for beauty, for quality, and promised functionality. These are honestly such a great set of dogs for the money, but there are only a few things I can use them for because they are small 19.5mm. So there is a lot of movement. If it wasn’t past the return date I’d return them.

These are a little sloppy in a proper 20mm hole. The insert part of the dogs measure 19.83mm which is too small by almost 0.1mm. They should measure closer to 19.95 for a tight fit. They actually wobble in my table which was drilled with a Parf guide. Only going to use these for non critical tasks.

I ordered these for use in an MFT style workbench. These arrived promptly, good packaging. I was even made aware of the shipping schedule by the seller. Very sturdy aluminum dogs, and they are a nice fit for my table. Not too snug, not too loose. If you need 20mm benchdogs, grab these when they are available, you won't regret it.
