helpful
I bought this to use after my Hip Surgery and Lower Back surgery. I'm 6'5" and it helped. A couple months later I let my 83 yr old mother use it after a 5 day hospital stay. She is only 5'3" and it helped. The Ultimate Raised Toilet Seat with Handles is an absolute game-changer for anyone in need of a little extra assistance and comfort in the bathroom. This product has made a significant difference in my daily routine, and I can't speak highly enough of its design and functionality. First and foremost, the added height of this raised toilet seat is a blessing for those with mobility challenges. It provides a substantial lift, making it easier to sit down and stand up, reducing strain and promoting independence. The convenience and comfort it offers are nothing short of remarkable. The padded seat is a thoughtful touch that sets this product apart. It not only adds a layer of comfort but also minimizes pressure on the body. The seat is soft yet firm, offering a supportive surface that's easy to clean and maintain. The armrests are a standout feature of this raised toilet seat. They provide crucial stability and support, especially when transitioning from a seated to a standing position. These sturdy armrests make the entire process much safer and more manageable, reducing the risk of slips and falls. The raised toilet seat's design allows for easy installation, and it securely attaches to the toilet bowl with minimal effort. Once in place, it remains steady and wobble-free, ensuring peace of mind during use. The versatility of this product is noteworthy. In addition to serving as a raised toilet seat, it can also double as a bedside commode, offering a convenient solution for those who may have difficulty getting to the bathroom at night. The removable pail and lid are easy to clean and maintain, providing an extra layer of convenience. One of the aspects that really impressed me is the durable build of this raised toilet seat. It's clear that it's built to withstand the test of time, and the materials used are of high quality. The Ultimate Raised Toilet Seat with Handles is a must-have for anyone with mobility challenges or those in need of extra support and comfort in the bathroom. The added height, padded seat, armrests, and versatility make it a remarkable product that significantly improves the daily lives of its users. The peace of mind it provides and the independence it promotes are invaluable. I wholeheartedly recommend this product for its thoughtful design and top-notch quality. It's truly a game-changer!

This is the best of them all from what I can tell.
BUY THIS. Dont waste your time with the others. There are the ones that bolt through where the toilet seat would. Do you have someone to do that for you? Even if you do, they get loose. Imagine if you twisted your toilet seat side to side how quickly that side would just flop around. Now imagine a handicap person is relying on a riser seat with bars pushing and twisting as they get up and down from the toilet. Enjoy retightening those every other day. They stink! Then there are the ones that you just place on the toilet seat and tight the front knob. Those are not too bad, but they too just naturally move around alot on the smooth toilet surface. Eventually, they just break as it's just plastic constantly being stressed. Trust me when I say they feel sketchy. So the one you are looking at here, it great. It's very stable and quick to put together. No tools necessary. About 2 minutes and you are done. The added bonus is they include a bucket that allows you to just have a bed side toilet for those that can barely get around or need a good bit of assistance to use the bathroom. Similar to what would be provided at a nursing home. Over the toilet, for this unit to work well you must take the toilet seat off for it to sit far enough back. Then you wont need the other attachment that directs waste product into the toilet. It's been in use for use for a month without fail. So do keep that in mind that other members of the family will need to use this seat. It's also worth mentioning that the seat is padded. It's not too soft, not too firm. Appears to be made of of a fairly decent quality material that is easy to wipe down with clorox wipes. Stability wise, this is made essentially like a walker with a toilet seat. So it's very sturdy. Please trust me when I say this....if you need a toilet riser, then you need to spend the little bit extra to do it right and get this unit. There is absolutely no reason to get anything else after having tried 3 different things from cheap to more expensive.

Great purchase - no regrets
Ddd “As someone who has worked in the healthcare system for many years I have seen the quality of many products and have often feared the safety for some of my patients due subpar equipment. I recently had major emergency surgery with multiple complications including a 40# weight loss and a 6 week hospital stay (5 weeks in ICU) with 97% of my time in bed. Due to COVID I was unable to walk in the hospital to build my strength and discharged home as soon as I could walk to the bathroom. That being said that my toilet seat is much lower than the hospital. My first trip to the bathroom I was surprised to see that I was unable to stand up from the toilet unassisted. I assess my home needs at this point looking at it from my weakened state. I determined that my weakness put me at higher risk for falls or injuries and decided to purchase equipment to assist me. I decided to purchase a The Ultimate Raised Toilet Seat from Amazon. Pros: 1) Product arrived quickly in 1.5 days on a weekend - wow! 2) It was packaged well and visually clean with blue cushion - Nice and soft! 3) Very easy assembly under 5 minutes the adjusted for my height. - Very quick! 4) Very strong and light weight - I can lift it with my restrictions on lifting while I recover! 5) Price is very good for quality. - Durable Medical Equipment can be very expensive and when purchasing several items it can break the bank. This product feels the need for 3 items needed with the price of one - Money in the bank! This product is amazing, I easily went to the bathroom unassisted. I then moved the seat to my shower and took my first unassisted bath in 7 weeks. I have not had a need to use the bedside commode but I am sure I will at some point as my husband and I are not spring chickens. CONS: NONE SEEN I am very happy with my purchase and will recommend it to anyone with similar needs as well al looking to this manufacturer for future purchases.

only one caveat
this is suprisingly easy to assemble; the only caution is that the lowest adjustment to the height of the legs may be too low for the toilet (so that the legs of the toilet seat cannot be planted firmly on the floor), but the next setting up makes the seat too high for short people (< 5'2")! So, one way or the other, if you're short, or the toilet is elevated, either your legs or the legs of the toilet seat won't be resting securely on the floor. that said, this is a useful little gadget: the arms give you the security to lift yourself, without having to negotiate bars on the wall that may be awkwardly placed; it is heavy enough to be secure, but light enough to be mobile; you can rest your weight on it, like a walker; you can use it as a shower seat; the color is happily non-institutional; the only adjustment you have to make to the toilet is raise the seat. So, with that one caution, I do recommend this

You won’t find a better made seat
Very well made product . . . industrial quality! Frame is constructed of stout aluminum tubing. All parts click together with strong brass detents. There is a slight amount of sway/flex left to right when seated, but not what I would consider excessive. Instructions indicate "rubber feet may need to be rotated to accommodate the floor's surface"; I didn't test that feature because feet were tightly fastened and adjustment wasn't necessary in our case . . . rubber feet sit firmly on floor and stay put. Seat doesn't flip up like most other brands do which has pros and cons; it's more rigid, but also not as easy to clean. Cushion is comfortable, has just the right amount of give, and appears to be made from same material throughout which is great. Opening where you do your business is only 6" which is a bit on the small side but should be fine for most. It’s not clear if disposable liners are available for this bucket should you choose to use as a portable commode . . . small trash can liners may work.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY
THIS IS A WONDERFUL SEAT. MY MOTHER'S STRENGTH IS WANING, AND THIS RAISED SEAL ALLOWS HER TO PUSH HERSELF UP WITHOUT STRAINING HER FAILING MUSCLES. SHE IS VERY HAPPY WITH THIS SEAT.

Heavy Duty & Adjustable
This is probably one of our best purchases on Amazon! Hubby just had a total hip replacement a week ago. A few months prior to surgery I ordered different things that would be beneficial for him. I mistakengly ordered just a 5" raised plastic toilet seat. I did not realize it wouldn't work because I ordered a round seat, but we have an elongated toilet! Then tohis came 2 days after we came home from the hospital & my hubby says it is indeed worth every penny! If anyone else is looking-may I suggest take measurements & note whether or not you have a sink & a tub on each side of your toilet! This new toilet seat barely fit in our space, at a slight angle but it is so great, comfy arm rest & adjustable we were not about to return it! Also for people who are thinking they could also use this as an adjustable shower chair in their tub, fyi-it is too wide to fit in our tub. But thats ok, we had already ordered a sturdy shower chair (from Amazon) & now we have this sturdy raised toilet seat to fit over the toilet. It really helps. I would give this 10 stars if I could!

Mixed emotions
I bought this toilet riser to get me through hip replacement surgery when they don't want you bend past a 90 degree angle during recovery. I'm 5'5" tall with a typical height toilet, so I couldn't quite squeak by without one of these. I spent a lot of time reading so many reviews on way too many options and settled on this one, but it does have drawbacks. Unfortunately, I think all of the choices do. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: 1. It's sturdy and plenty wide enough unless you are more than a bit obese. 2. Height adjustable. If you only need 2" instead of 5" height, it's possible with this seat. 3. It has no sharp edges. 4. Assembly and disassembly is intuitive and needs no tools. It does come with instructions, though. 5. It fits both round and elongated toilets. 6. The seat can be angled by shortening the front legs one notch so that your knees stay below your hips while sitting as they are supposed to after hip replacement surgery. The chair still feels stable. 7. It's easy to move if you share a toilet with someone else who doesn't need it. 8. It's not made in China! It's from Taiwan. They shipped it in a very thick, sturdy, plain brown box that will be good when I want to put it into storage and didn't advertise to the neighbors what I purchased while it was sitting on my front porch. Cons: 1. The straight bar across the front gets in the way of cleaning yourself unless you are tall and have twigs for legs. I can't do it at my height without standing and find that quite awkward. It would be a real problem for someone needing help to stand or transfer. What happened to the curved front bar in earlier pictures of this chair? This bar goes straight across the front open area of the pail/splash guard instead of in front of it. 2. The sides of the splash guard are steeply slanted towards the opening in the bottom rather than vertical. Splash-up is inevitable and an infection risk for females. If you have diarrhea? Yikes!! 3. The flare at the front of the seat, while comfortable, is not really needed (regular seats don't flare), and makes access for cleaning more narrow than it needs to be. For reviews that complain that the seat is hard when it calls itself padded: You can compress the seat with your hands, so it is padded, but it's thankfully a very, very firm pad that doesn't compress too much. If you have sore points on your bottom that you were hoping to get relief from while sitting on this seat, this won't be what you are hoping for, but it's better than hard wood or plastic. Finally, I'd like to note that when I received this item I received a "VIP Invitation" to get free products/free shipping from the seller for writing un-biased reviews for them on other products. Thank you, but no. I don't need to be weighed down with things I don't need and think Amazon already has way too many reviews written by people who get free stuff from sellers. How can they be unbiased or understand the pros and cons of things they wouldn't otherwise acquire?

Stable, comfortable and easy to assemble!
I received the toilet seat yesterday, several days before the projected date. Today, my landlady put it together for me as I have a fractured vertebra and can’t move much... Fantastic product! Took all of 5 minutes to assemble, and it is both stable and comfortable over an elongated toilet. I am 5’2” and find the lowest setting just slightly too high, as my feet do not touch flat to the ground when on the seat, but the improvement in the comfort level of using the toilet (I have to raise and lower myself with my arms grasping the rails) is remarkable. The seat feels soft and stable, the bars are solid and yet the whole thing is light and easy to move. The optional pastic insert can be used to turn the seat into a commode. I am so glad I didn’t go with a cheaper model!

For post-op hip replacement, this product is about as perfect as you can get. Easy to assemble, comfortable, sturdy and SAFE, also easy to clean.

Buen producto
La compré para mi abuela. Le parece muy cómoda. Que la altura sea ajustable es una cualidad muy buena. Muy fácil de instalar, simplemente ajustas la altura y la colocas. Buena compra.

The best toilet seat.
We had purchased raised toilet seat before for my husband but nothing like this one. I like the fact that I can easily take it out when I use the toilet and put it back in for my husband. My husband said it is very comfortable for him.
