The leather cleaner works very well. Rub it on. Wipe with a damp paper towel. Wipe it off. Done! I haven't yet used the waterproofer.

I used this product on my Salewas and it worked great. I applied when I first bought the boots and it helped water and dirt to fall right off. The dirt stuck but then I rinsed it off and it came right off. After cleaning the product I reapplied for the next use

Nikwax does its job cleaning and waterproofing my hiking boots just as I expected.

This said that it may cause slight discolouration. And although I do not remember what colour my birks were before using this I do know that they did not look quite right afterwards. Probably won't use on any nicer pair of shoes again.

I work in hospital and got blood splattered on my suede (expensive) Birkenstocks and this took the stains away easily and remarkably well. Used the repellant afterwards. Would highly recommend.

Still in the process of breaking in my SCARPA Men's Zodiac Tech GTX boots and naturally I come in still wearing them and a piece of fried chicken hits the toe of my boot, leaving a small grease stain. I used the corn starch method for removing the grease stain, but in the process of cleaning the boot, I also removed the water proofing at the top of the toe. The boots were already clean, so I just needed to waterproof them. I got the area wet, dabbed on the waterproof liquid, let it set for 2 minutes, wiped off the excess and let it dry overnight. No change in color to the bright orange and water beads off beautifully.

The applicators are a hassle to use and not worth the time and effort. Had to take them off and to properly apply the liquid to my boots. Also, darkened y Nubuck Leather to an off color. I am a big supporter of Nixwax and have used their products from Gore Tex Rainwear to down sleeping bags with good results. However, this. product I will use and not purchase again.

I applied 2 coats (and let each dry for 24 hours) on new suede shoes. The shoes look great, no textural change. They might be very very slightly darker after Nikwax treatment, but not sure.At this point (2 coats to start, ~3 weeks ago), if I put the Nikwax treated shoes under a small stream/trickle of water from the tap, the water literally rolls off.After the first coat, results were just 'ok' (a few drops of water spattered on top of the shoe and left for a few seconds did soak in), but after the second coat, results truly did live up to those videos you might find on youtube. I'd describe the effect as 'hydrophobic'.While I'd heard (from a third party source) that one package will do to treat 5 pairs of shoes, if you have to coat twice like I did, I'd say half that - if that.While I haven't tried the sponge applicator yet, it may be better than the (non-aerosol) spray that I got because while one 'liberally applies' this product with the spray applicator, it tends to saturate the shoe and the excess then forms into drips.......there's a good chance that the sponge applicator is less messy and applies the product more efficiently.....but that's just a guess on my part.If using the spray-on, definitely put newspaper or something underneath; After liberally applying product to the shoes, I found that a few quick jerks toward the newspaper, followed by a quick (but careful) wipe of the sides of the soles with a damp cloth will take care of any excess product/drips.Overall, I like this product.

Could not be more pleased, does and performs just as they say it would. My suede sandles look like brand new.

I was skeptical, but after I used it on my Blundstone boots - I love it. I had a huge dark spot on the half of my left boot and it almost disappeared. They look like new!
