We bought this product for thunderbolt apple monitor, but it is not compatible with it. Be careful with your purchase. The merchant response is quick so I leave a 5 star review.

This product does not work! This 3rd party adaptor will not recognize your Thunderbolt Display. Suggest buying only Apple branded products for this type of connection.

This adapter did exactly what it was supposed to do and to say I’m pleased is an understatement. I was getting desperate and really needed to connect my MacBook Pro to my old computer. The connection is very simple and everything went flawlessly. The cable is very durable and is very high quality. Wonderful item that I highly recommend with a great price.

When I first installed the adapter betweeen my new MacBook Pro and my old Mac LED Display, I got video and audio out of the computer and onto the display, but was unable to get video and audio from the display to the computer for video conferencing. The trick was to perform a PRAM reset. I nearly returned the adapter but it is now working perfectly.

I bought this adapter to connect my mini displayport cable to USB-C on my Macbook Pro. This was the least bulky option I could find. Product came as described and works great! Love how thin it is compared to the other bulky adapters on Amazon. Mine came with a solid white cable which I actually prefer over the silver braided cable in the picture. Could have done without the "Biming" logo but other than that this adapter is great!

I bought this based on other positive reviews on Amazon to connect my Apple 30" Cinema Display (circa 2008) to my 2018 mac mini. The previous mac minis had the mini display port on them. Apple, being the great company that it is, couldn't care less about its customers basic needs let alone their pockets and went on phasing out every good feature to save a few cents. On the side, the 3.5mm mini optical toslink support was also phased out in the new mac mini models. Think twice before trying to turn this into a music server.Long story short, I connected my 30" Cinema Display via Apple's "Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adaptor" to this "USB C Type to Mini DisplayPort/Mini DP Adapter Cable". The other end plugs into the thunderbolt 3 port of the mac mini.1st day the adapter worked.2nd day, I was trying to wake mac mini from sleep, but the display wouldn't turn on. Led light is on but no input signal and a black screen.I disconnected the adapter and reconnected, the display would turn on 3 seconds or less then would black out again. I've tried different tweaks, connected then disconnected, unplugged the power cable of everything then plugged again, restarted mac mini, alternating, repeating with different setups. Same problem. Display switches on for 3 seconds then goes dark again. I should also mention that the adapter turns hot. Not burning hot but it does get hot in a relatively short period of time. Also, the USB-C port plugs too snug to the Mac mini. Unplugging it is quite difficult it scratched my back panel port.It was frustrating experience.I returned the adapter on the third day for a full refund. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this product. The two stars go to Amazon for their courtesy and non hassle return policy. Otherwise it would've been zero stars from me.Thank you.

Ordered this to connect a 2nd monitor to connect to my Macbook Pro. Product works great and is just what I needed! Unfortunately need to return because the monitor's preexisting thunderbolt cord is glitchy so my work is replacing it so I no longer need this piece. Worked great for the short time I used it! Much better alternative compared to the expensive apple adapters.

Did not work!!!! I plugged it in and thought I was saving money by not ordering apple brand. I was wrong. This fully didn’t work, my laptop didn’t recognize the thunderbolt connection to the monitor at all. Tried restarting both my computer and monitor several times and still didn’t work. Ended up buying apple brand and had no problem.
