Review: Great check valve - Recently installed this along with a new pool heat pump configuration. It works great along with a separately purchased diverter valve to limit flow to the heat pump. No leaks and was easy to fit in with existing PVC layout.
Review: Worked exactly as expected, no issues - I was really glad to find this check valve on desertcart since I needed one really quickly and the local pool store did not have them in stock and would have taken a while for them to order and receive them. The price was also higher than the price on desertcart. I need to replace the valve since the water in my raised hot tub which has water overflow into my pool kept going lower and lower each night to the point that eventually it was almost half empty after one night. And it took a while in the morning for the water to fill the hot tub as well. Replacing the valve fixed the problem. I actually didn't use the full pipe/valve that came in the package, but only replaced the valve itself and used the new screws that it came with, and now I have the extra valve pipe to use in the future in case I need it. Overall, I am very satisfied.

**Q: does water flow from 2 inch to 1 1/2 inch side? Can water flow be reversed?**
A: Hi Jim,The Jandy check valve (7235) is a directional check valve to only allow water flow to move in one direction.  When the pump turns off, the springs shut the flapper to prevent the water from back siphoning.  This valve can be plumbed with either 1-1/2" or 2" plumbing.Thanks for reaching out. **Q: How do I measure to find the right size replacement flapper I need for my Jandy out door spa?**
A: I would suggest you look up the model of your valve on line and then look in the Jandy parts list, online.

**Q: What is the id for this valve (i.e what od of pipe would this valve slip over)?**
A: Kevin, This Check valve is a 1.5"/2" port. This will take a 1.5 pvc pipe into the port or you can put a 2" coupler or 90 over the outside of the check valve.

I was really glad to find this check valve on Amazon since I needed one really quickly and the local pool store did not have them in stock and would have taken a while for them to order and receive them. The price was also higher than the price on Amazon.
