Tiptree Green Gooseberry Preserve, 12 Ounce Jar

I have never tried this jam before. My papa recommended it. It tastes so fruity. Just the right kind of sweet too. My husband had cashew butter with his sandwich. The jam he says just capitalized his sandwich to a five star experience. My Papa had the classic p-n-j. He loved it. I had sunflower butter in my sandwich. The jam was so delicious. Thank you seller. My family just loved it.

Growing up in Hawaii, gooseberries were nonexistent. I had read about them and was curious as to its taste. Tiptree to the rescue. I bought a jar, liked the taste, and have never looked back. How would I describe it? A little tart, a little sweet - kinda reminds me of a plum. Full-bodied, distinctive taste. If you are tired of the same old strawberry, blueberry, orange, give this a try. I'm guessing you won't be disappointed.

When I was a boy back in Indiana, we had gooseberry bushes along the street kind of like a hedge row. They were the best gooseberries. I would eat them by the double handful right off the bushes. Red and sweet when ripe and SOUR when not ripe. Thorns, thorns, and more thorns but worth the pain every time. Mom would make gooseberry pies, jams, and we would feast on them over the holidays. This product reminds of those times back in the 50s when the taste we pure and simply nature at its best. I highly recommend it to anyone else out there yearning for a taste of the past.

Gooseberries used to be super common. They are very tart but this recipe is exactly right with sweetness. Very high quality. Great on toast but also with Brie cheese or in unsweetened Kefir.

Compared to other brands, Tiptree’s (whose jams I usually like) Gooseberry is flavourless, lacking the tartness and fresh berry taste I associate with this fruit. Indeed, it. tastes like little more than thickened sugar.

I buy this jam for my Irish mom and she loves it. It is hard to find in grocery stores so I’m glad that I can buy it on Amazon.

Tried this today and it tasted wonderful. I am pleased i purchased 6 jars at a reasonable price.

I LOVE Tiptree jams & conserves & Green Gooseberry very nice indeed...Not too sweet, appreciated as I am Diabetic. My son bought me a veriety bag of Tiptree for Christmas...take in moderation, always nice x
