Yes, it is 1/16 thick. I used it as a gasket/seal for my subwoofer. It works great. However, mine arrived sticky all over. As if it was exposed to heat before they shipped it or maybe old stock, but it still works.

It's double sided adhesive foam tape. Yes that should work.

You would probably need some thicker foam like material. Under the bottom of the AC with the weight on it and side layered could work. I only used this material on bottom of my truck topper.
