Excellent L bracket
Perfect machining, fit and finish. Excellent quality materials - solid billet aircraft aluminum, stainless steel screws. Allows all functions, connections, and access to ports to be made with no interference, and the one obvious exception, which is full up-and-down rotation of the rear LCD screen in the fully swung-out positions is still good in most situations, due to the large cut-out of the "rear" column of the upright bracket arm, which gives some rotation room to twist the LCD into position, much as the much more expensive Really Right Stuff version does. Bonus features: the central bottom points to connect camera carry straps to bracket itself, full access to the battery door to change batteries with bracket attached, extra camera grip height created by the design on the bottom of the bracket underneath the battery door, and useful tapped 1/4"-20 threaded holes for attaching accessories to the bracket. Good quality and very fair price combined.

Nice design. But why can't you include the right mounting bolt???
Photographers are willing to spend $90 on a simple piece of stamped aluminum because … well ... we convince ourselves it’s a piece of serious equipment. (To be fair, there is another bracket in this category that costs $140, so this Stabil is a relatively good value.)So what do you get for $90? This bracket is machined well. The finish is nice. And it has a really smart design solution which lets you extend the bracket in Portrait mode, so you can run cables to your camera. That’s smart. What’s not smart? An L bracket has One Job: Connect securely to your camera. This Stabil design uses a single mounting bolt with no other pins or set screws. And to save two cents on this $90 piece of stamped aluminum, the manufacturer includes the shortest possible mounting bolt. That bolt BARELY threads into the camera body, and that’s only if you take the washer out. (See photo.) The photo shows a nickel laying flat next to the bolt thread(s) – yes, they’re the same height. So, you’re supposed to attach your $2,500 camera to a bracket with the tiniest possible connection between mounting bolt and camera. For $90, I would expect a bolt that actually connects the L plate to the camera. That’s not too much to ask.

Decent L-Bracket for the price
Good construction quality, but the one I received had some wiggle, to the extent that it caused some finish wear on one corner of my EOS R in only one use.
