Quality construction and works as intended (adapter abilities listed in review)
Since a lot of people get confused on what these adapters do, here's a quick rundown. If your device (whether it's a smartphone or tablet) is capable of utilizing OTG, you can use/connect this adapter. Once plugged in, you can then connect any USB device to the adapter (mouse, keyboard, flash drives, etc). If you need extra power to power the USB device you've connected, you have the option of connecting a power source through the extra micro-USB port on this adapter. Note that you cannot use the micro-USB port to charge the device you're originally using. You also cannot connect extra peripherals through this micro-USB port; it is only for powering whatever you have connected to the USB port.As for the product itself, it's overall construction is quality and all male/female connection points are nice and tight without any play. A compact and clutter-free way to add a USB device without extra dangling cords.

Best thing for USB OTG!!!!
This is probably the best USB OTG peripheral out there. It is quality made unlike those USB OTG wires that have terrible wiring which can cause devices to lose connection. As for charging the device: It will not charge your phone or tablet UNLESS you have a custom kernel that is specifically patched to allow charging while a USB OTG device is plugged in. Otherwise, all it will do is power your USB sticks and maybe trickle charge your phone, this is not the fault of the device but the fault of how USB OTG is handled by your phone or tablet. My advice: Get this. It might cost a little more, but you will get a much neater device and much, much better quality.

Neat & Functional
I prefer adapters over dongles because they are neater. The advantage of using this type of adapter is the fact that you can daisy chain them via the female mini usb port. This allows several usb devices to be connected to your phone or tqblet. Finally, you can plug a charger into it in order to provide more power to the usb devices. This device works great. Highly recommended.

A Power to the Device OTG connector not a Charger
I've tried some other OTG connectors but this one is the best, exactly because of the arrangement of the ports. The side port direction feels "natural" and lets a large longish USB cable free range of motion without artifically proping up the phone at a weird angle. The Micro USB power connector is the exact same size as that for the normal USB charger that comes with the phone, and that charger is meant for quick charging, so it provides more current than most chargers provide and delivers plenty of current for USB devices that require it."on the go" or OTG is a specification that allows attaching all sorts of USB devices to a Phone with an OTG capable connector. The specification does not explicitly or implicitly allow you to [both] power and charge through the port at the same time.In fact a high current device like an external USB hard drive can attempt to [Pull] current direct from a phone being used an an OTG hub, and might damage it since a Phone isn't generally designed as a USB Power Source. This device provides an "extra" Micro USB port that [almost] looks like a daisy chain connection to the OTG port, and you might be tempted to think it will [charge] the phone as well as power a USB device attached to the side port. It does not, and it should not.But what it does do is [great]. It does power the USB device attached to the side port, and allow connecting the device to the OTG port for management, transfering files ect..You can also attach for example a Logitech Marathon Wireless mouse keyboard RF connector and it will power that and give you a mouse or keyboard to manage the phone. It is very small and light weight, but feels "solid". It is a hardened plastic body. The Micro USB and full size USB connectors are of regulation size and good quality.I use this with a Nexus 5 Android mobile phone and it works perfectly. Its easily pocketable.I'd recommend buying more than one.An older version that was lacking in some areas had a lanyard keyhole in the corner so you could attach a lanyard and dangle it from a backpack pack or tote, or neck cord.I wish it had that, but it looks much more professional without one.A very good solution.

Works great but tight fit
This thing works great with my ellipsis 7 tablet which has severe storage limitations. When powered it runs my 250 gig USB hard drive which is full of game footage. Unpowered it easily runs my flash drives allowing me true OTG storage with no wires. Hooray! Finally this tablet is proving to be useful. Only problem I have with it is the USB 2.0 slot is extremely tight to the point that I thought it was defective causing me to force the drive in very hard. Maybe it will eventually loosen up with use.

This adapter is great. I have used it as an OTG host ...
This adapter is great. I have used it as an OTG host cable, but mostly use it as a charger adapter. For example: The Fitbit Flex charging cable has a very short pigtail with a male USB plug. We naturally have lots of AC adapters and car (DC) adapters with micro-usb cables all over the place. I just plug the micro cable into this adapter, and then plug the Fitbit cable into the adapter. No more crawling under the desk to plug/unplug the cable.

It would be perfect if I could charge and use my wireless mouse ...
Everyone should know this will not charge your device and allow you to use your usb peripheral at the same time without certain modifications. I use this for my ASUS Transformer T100 it runs Windows 8.1. It would be perfect if I could charge and use my wireless mouse at the same time unfortunately it does not. Other wise it does what it is suppose to do.
