Zinky Smokey Guitar Amplifier - Pocket Guitar Amp - HIGAIN - Black - Made in USA

As many reviews will show, this little amp makes for a great cabinet driver. To keep this simple: it works quite well for practice. No controls, just your guitar volume. I plugged in a MIM telecaster and this thing sounded great. The tele tone is fully there. I'll try some guitars with humbuckers soon, but to use a lower end guitar and be satisfied with the sound, that's mission accomplished. But when I plugged this into a small Ibanez (low end) practice amp, oh holy %&*k, this thing was amazing. In playing the MIM tele into the Smokey and then into cheap amp, and in using some gain boost on the amp, the tele sounds like a monster. I had so much fun just blasting this through that setup, and I can only imagine how playing this into a tube amp will sound. The power chords sounded huge, and the neck pickup was quite potent. So for playing low end/beat up gear into this little critter, I'm very happy. I'll be using the PRS and a Valveking with it soon, and it can only get better. For practice purposes, this is all you really need, and it fits into your guitar case. For tinking with tones, it can also deliver. This is an excellent out of the box experience. :O) And if you ever get a chance to play a Zinky USA made tube amp.....watch out. You won't want to not buy it. The Zinky name means quality, and you don't find many brand/quality matches like that too often.

Cool little amp. Not quite the "high gain" it might suggest but it is still a great little amp.the amp does power a 4x12 cab very nicely though, im sure it drains the battery alot faster. Good looking and so far pretty sturdy.

My husband loved it! It was a bday surprise gift and he was really happy.
