Great Action MMO which is not a time-sink or grind
I have the game and had a great experience so far. Launch day for any MMO there are going to be some issues and this game is no exception. I too experienced the falling thru the map glitch which has since been fixed. As far as why you can't fight with certain weapons immediately like one poster mentioned, you have to purchase a weapon of another type to open that talent tree. The above poster seems to be someone who does not have alot of experience playing MMO's or RPG's for that matter. I don't know an MMO/RPG that will allow you off the bat to use all different weapon/power types. Also they limit you to 3 colors for your clothing yes, but they at least allow you to choose those 3 colors. Most other MMOs you are stuck with the colors that are prechosen and you have to rely on finding items that have the colors/design on them that you want already. You CAN choose entirely different colors for hair, skin tone, and "makeup" which is not just make up it could have to do with skin type options for chars who have elaborate skin types such as Lava, Reptillian, Panther, Cheetah, Crystalline, etc. The closest thing I can compare the game to is InFamous, but online with customizable characters and much larger with more storyline and in the DC Universe. It can be a bit of a button masher, especially early on. However as you progress in levels you can define your character to suit different roles and play those out in larger groups. As in fact the later level content is designed for larger teams and you WILL need to group at some point with somewhat of a healer/tank/support type team to conquer certain missions. Also unlike the last console MMO I had played (Final Fantasy XI) you can make a total of 16 characters and not pay a dime extra past the 15 dollar subscription. FF charged $1 extra per month for each char past 1 that you made. The dialogue is well done, the voice acting is great, and if you are a fan of the DC Universe, (and not just Batman/Superman I'm talking they have obscure chars like Ambush Bug and Sgt Rock for crying out loud) then this is a fun MMO which is not a time sink as you can pick up and play for a half hour to an hour and still accomplish something. There is no XP grind here. My only complaints are that there could have a been a few more modes of movement rather than just super speed/flight/acrobatics and also a few more power restrictions or variety. Also the chat system could be set up better however that also could be my unfamiliarity with it because some folks seemed to be figuring it out quite fine by last night and that was 1 day after launch.

Good game for comic fans only.
This is a solid game, I ordered it for release date delivery with no issues. The collectors edition is impressive, the statue is good quality and worth the extra money (approximately 5"X3"). This is run of the mill as far as MMORPGs go. I'll give some pros and consPROS1. If you are a comic book fan this will keep your interest. Just when I normally become bored (as with all MMORPGs) BAM! my villain runs into Superman on top of a building & I take a shot at him. I did not win.2. Graphics are excellent.3. Arenas are fun, I would compare them to raids in wow.CONS1. Feels like a single player game, not much interaction with others. I have the PS3 version and it is hard to read the chat window, nobody really uses it. This changes if you play on a PVP server. Villains and heroes constantly attack each-other. This was fun at first. With no real interaction besides fight to the death on sight it got boring pretty fast.2. Level cap is 30, and achievable very quickly. Unless you have a group of people you play with consistently this will become a problem.3. Monthly fee. I give myself maybe 2-3 months before I become bored and move on. I won't be able to pick the game up to try future patches without paying again. You have to pick this up if you are a hardcore comic fan, otherwise I would skip it. There are better options.

Collector's Edition Review
OK, so let's talk about the Collector's Edition of DC Universe Online.1. The packaging is nice.2. The batman figure is very plastic and the wings scratched coming out of the soft plastic enclosure. Strange. It is bigger than I thought, standing at almost 9" to the top of the cape.3. The Game Case is Terrible! It's a cardboard foldout! For crying out loud, it isn't even the same size as all my other PS3 games. And it's cardboard! Give me the nice plastic PS3 gaming case that you are giving to everyone else who shelled out $40 less for the regular game! This is my biggest complaint of the Collector's Edition. The game itself is fun. pretty much combat mixed with combat, and they add a bit of combat for when you get bored. The leveling is somewhat slow, and the controls could be better. The customization for each hero is legit. The looks are great. The skills seem to be doing well, and the levels aren't too difficult, but not easy. Overall, I'd say it's a pretty fun game. Looking back, I wish I'd purchased the regular game, as I don't think the Collector's edition was worth it. Now I'm trying to figure out how I can get a regualr PS3 case and game cover......

Great game! Still a few bugs
This is a really great game to get into. Its the first real MMO for the PS3. There are still a few bugs that affect the game but the overall experience is alot of fun! The iconic gear looks great and they really make you work for it! The PVP arena matches are alot of fun and the alerts can be a challenge but once you get your team dynamic together they are alot of fun to do. There are only 6 powersets but each powerset has 2 trees + an iconic powerset tree. The voice acting in the game is great, they brought back alot of the original talent like Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker. There are a bugs in the game but thats how all MMO's start out. Once the kinks are worked out this game will be something truly amazing so get in on the fun now!
