Versatile, simple, economical, delightful.
Three weeks after taking delivery of the Drinkmate Omni Fizz, I am extremely happy with it. I have included in my review some information that I wish Iโd known before taking delivery of this item. Read on if youโre interested. How long should you hold the button down to achieve optimal carbonation? After a little trial and error, I have found itโs best to use one second pulses (count out โ1 one thousandโ while holding down the button). 7 to 10 such pulses works great (for the 1 L bottles, which are actually more like 850 ML bottles because of the placement of the maximum fill line. Cut that in half for the half liter bottle, of course. I have taken heed of earlier reviews, and when operating the machine, I let off the pressure after carbonation very slowly. There is a 2 inch gap between the top of the liquid in the bottle and the actual mouth of the bottle, and so when releasing pressure simply keep an eye on how much the liquid is fizzing up and release the button before the fizz reaches the mouth of the bottle. Once it settles down, release some more pressure. Rinse and repeat until the pressure is equalized, and you can remove the fizzing attachment from the mouth of the bottle. Iโve never made the kind of mess some other reviewers mentioned, simply by learning from their experience. This machine really does fizz anything. I have fizzed my iced tea, and that worked great. Iโve also started experimenting with making syrups out of berry or lemon juice and sugar, and using those to make my own sodas. Theyโre delicious, theyโre very fizzy, and a hell of a lot cheaper than what youโd pay for something similar in the stores. Use about 1/4c syrup per 1L bottle. How long does a cartridge last? My wife and I have been drinking one to two bottles apiece a day since we got the thing three weeks ago, and weโre still on our first cartridge. If you get this thing, and especially if you share a kitchen with somebody whose beverage tastes differ from yours, you will want to order additional bottles to supplement the one 1 L and the 1/2 L bottle that come with the machine. I ordered an additional two pack of 1 L bottles and that seems to be enough. Other things I like: itโs great to have a kitchen appliance that doesnโt require electricity at all. It takes up very little counter space. Itโs really simple to use. Itโs also very very fast: I go from deciding I want a bottle of soda to having a full bottle of chilled soda in my hand in under a minute. Overall, this has been my favorite new kitchen purchase in some years. I use it constantly and Iโm very happy with the results. Strongly recommend.

Surpasses expectations
The main reason I purchased a soda maker was to cut down on single use containers. The likelihood of plastic bottles getting recycled is about 9%. Aluminum cans are are far more likely to be recycled, but take up a lot room, and you pretty much have to finish the whole can once youโve opened it. I ordered the Drinkmate over other brands because users seemed to think it was a better build and you can fizz up justice about any liquid. The pros are in the finished product. The machine fizzes up the water in seconds which surprised me, the โcarbonation bottleโ has a tight seal and holds the bubbles about as long as a single use bottle, maybe longer because of the seal and rigid construction. It is very sturdy and time will tell how well the seal will hold up. The product is 5 star, but my con is that I was sent the wrong combination order to begin with. I ordered the Drinkmate, plus a full sized CO2 cartridge and a second carbonation bottle. More on the latter later. What I received was the Drinkmate, the full sized CO2 cartridge (but not the โstarterโ cartridge that normally ships inside the machine), and a bottle of organic lemonade concentrate. It was brown an unappetizing btw. I donโt intend to fizz up already flavored drinks, and if I do, Iโll make it from fresh lemons, etc., so the syrup was a no go. I contacted the manufacturer, and they said โenjoy the lemonade syrup, it only looks bad, but tastes greatโ. So I contacted them again, only I mixed up my products and wrote CO2 cartridge instead of โcarbonation bottleโ. They said there should tbe another CO2 cartridge in the machine. I realized my mistake, and contacted them again, but didnโt get a response. I went ahead and ordered two more carbonation bottles, which are not expensive , and I feel will be very useful, as the water bubbles better when chilled, and having two bottles ready to go is more convenient than pouring chilled water from one container into another. Bottom line, Drinkmate, your product is great, easy to use and well made, and I love that I can recycle the CO2 cartridges, regardless of manufacturer. Your shipping department could use some supervision though, because I am sure there was another disappointed customer out there who received my order. I wonโt blame you for not rectifying and sending what I did not receive, because of my own cognitive error when I contacted you. This is a great product and deserves the 5 stars I gave it.

Fun, cost effective, Fast & Tasty!
During the pandemic my kids went through SO SO SO much soda it was wild and I knew we needed to find a replacement to fill the void and still provide the sensory experience soda does - like "the burn" What drew us to the OmniFizz over other brands was the ability to carbonate just about anything you can think of (I don't recommend milk...) 2 little puffs of CO2 and we're good to go. I love that you can control the bubbliness. Not everyone enjoys super fizzy drinks so it is very easy to personalise your experience. This is also why we have several bottles of different size - I prefer the 500ml. Each person can have their own to experiment with & use. DrinkMate offers several bundles to get you started. I do recommend buying several extra bottles - 500ml is great for trying new flavors/products and the 1L is good for keeping unflavored water on hand. We've tried several juice flavors but cranberry and apple remain a favorite. Koolaid is interesting. Tea is great. AND being able to re-carbonate a regular soda (or adult beverage) is phenomenal! Wine is a fun one to try. There are many recipes out there for adult beverages. The OmniFizz is amazing! One of the best things is how quickly you can make carbonated drinks. Cold liquid, pop the infuser on, a few blasts of CO2, release the extra gas and your off! 10-15 seconds is all it takes to satisfy your soda craving. We found that having a few Torani (or brand of choice) flavors on hand is awesome. Root beer, Vanilla & Root beer = cream soda, peach... the sky is the limit with imagination. You'll find some combinations are meh and some you'll make time and again. We've had this a little while now and still go through 2L a day, more if it's hot. Definitely take advantage of exchange programs for the CO2 cartridges if you find yourself going through them. At $30-$35 a pop exchange programs make a HUGE difference. We highly recommend the OmniFizz and Drinkmate as a whole =]

Excellent
ยซ Edit, Nov. 30, 2021: The original review expressed dissatisfaction with the product. Later I learned the reason that the carbonation wasn't lasting long enough when I'm carbonating plain water. I hadn't been shaking the bottle vigorously enough or long enough after removing it from the device (and before releasing the pressure using the valve). Thanks to a friend who's a chemical engineer, I learned that the water becomes far more able to contain dissolved CO2 following vigorous shaking. This is counter-intuitiveโwho shakes up a bottle of Coke unless he wants the stuff to spray all over the place when he opens the bottle? But it doesn't happen this way with the Drinkmate since you can release excess pressure slowly. Following pretty vigorous shaking the carbonation of plain water is MUCH improved and remains good as long as the bottle is kept tightly enough capped. (Some shaking-up is needed for, say, sparking apple ciderโnot as much shaking as is needed for plain water, though.) Having learned what I was doing wrong, now I'm getting great results and I'm revising the review upward to 5 stars. ยป The product seems to be made well enough. Installing the carbonation bottle and then making the first carbonated drink was easy enough. The problem is that the fizz doesn't last long within the carbonated drinks. Commercially made carbonated drinks remain fizzy for quite a while. The ones I'm making with this device don't. User error? Just the way it goes with this kind of device? I don't know. I was also surprised by this: a rough guide to using it with various liquids (in the instruction manual) shows that plain water can receive quite a few more "shots" than other liquids such as juices. And yet, carbonating plain water results in that "you've added enough gas" sound occurring well before the limit suggested in the instructions. I don't know what to make of it. (I'm ensuring that any liquid I'm carbonating is pretty cold for starters.)

Great, but so much for made in the USA!
OK, let me get the bad stuff first! Do not buy this product if you require any type of help or support from the manufacturer. They are worthless and don't give a crap about your needs in my opinion. I emailed them about the infuser cap defective issue and they just send you to some stupid links on how to use the product. I haven't got an answer or help on the infuser cap to be resolved. The infuser cap quality are terrible. The one that came with the unit was so loose when installed on the bottle it would leak out all over the place when pressurizing it. I try doing short burst and light push on the button, but it doesn't help at all. I had to buy two new infuser caps to fix the problem. The two caps I bought only one made a snug fit with the bottle. I have 4 bottles and all of them fitted well with the one that worked. The other two infuser we're all loose and leaks when in used. The manufacturer quality of these cap are poor and it doesn't look like they have any quality control apparently from make them. The one cap that work has no issue, I can blast the bottle and no leaks what so ever! OK, the good part! This little carbonation machine will work on any liquid you want to carbonate. It has a release valve to slowly release the pressure in the bottle prior to opening it. This make the carbonation process very easy. I made my own DIY carbonation unit and the hard part was removing the infuser cap on the bottle when it's under pressure. I used my DIY unit now to fill the CO2 bottle when it's empty. How to carbonated the easy way: Make sure the liquid you want to carbonated is cold. The carbonation works better when it cold, the CO2 infused better with the liquid and will make it extremely carbonated and bubbly! After you can't carbonate it anymore because the pressure release valve will vent the excess gas. Take it out of the unit and shake it for 30 sec. This will make it extremely bubbly. Leave the bottle on the counter and let the pressure release naturally. Do not do a quick release!! LOL....My kids love it when the carbonation liquid bubble in their mouths!! Beware, there is no return on Amazon with this unit if it defective! The OEM warranty is for 2 years, but I don't not know how this will work out when their support is so horrible! I think this is a US company too....so guess it the new American way of no supporting your customer if it doesn't work. So much for made in the USA! So good luck..great product, but God help you if it defective or have issues!

Super fun to use
OMG! I'm having so much fun with this. No offense to Soda Stream. It served me well for many years but I love that more than water can be carbonated. I love that it's so easy to use and clean up. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Carbonation Rocks!
Got my machine today and made my first drink. Yes, it was great. I spend lots of money on soda water and trader Joe's carbonated tea. I can already see the omni fizz paying for itself quickly. The directions are sparse. There was a way to go online and get directions, but if I have directions on a paper in my hands I prefer to use them. The directions said to pull the bottle assembly and fizz infuser adapter forward to a 45 degree angle. That mechanism is stiff. I was afraid of breaking it so it took a little fumbling on my part before it moved. Also the cartridge seemed to go in at a slight angle but I heard no leaking. I wasn't sure how long to push the carbinator button. I did about 4 short bursts. Next time I'll do about 2. My drink which was tea and cherry juice was very fizzy. It would seem like the cartridge will last a very long time. The bottles and lids are sturdy. The machine seems a bit flimsy so if you have kids using it make sure they are careful.

10 minutes of hassle per drink
There is nothing technically wrong with this machine. It does carbonate everything I have tried in it. You can carbonate any amount of fluid that will fit in the bottles. I've carbonated water, Chi-Chi's Orange Cream Liquor, juice and flat soda. My issue is the time/effort/hassle involved in using it. It takes about 5-10 minutes from start to finish every time you want a soda. You have to gather and measure ingredients, use the machine, wait for it to depressurize, add your flavorings, and then hand wash all the parts and items you used to measure immediately (not dishwasher safe and the syrups gum it up if you let it wait). It takes mine about a full 90 seconds to depressurize which seems like forever when you're just standing there waiting for it knowing full well that if you had a bottle of soda in the frig you'd already be drinking by now. So bottom line for me is that every time I wanted a soda I had 10 minutes of hassle and cleaning before I could drink. Can you imagine if you have to make drinks for a whole family at this rate??? Even after I've put in that time/hassle making a drink, I have yet to make one that is better than a store bought one. I have tried Pepsi brand Soda Stream flavorings; Torani, Syruppi, and DaVinci syrups; Mio drops and Crush powders and none were as good as store bought and most left me with an odd aftertaste that I did not enjoy. I also thought it would save me money on soda but it does not. The price of syrups and CO2 come out basically the same cost as buying soda. For instance, a bottle of SodaStream syrup runs about $7 and make 9 liters. Add the cost of the CO2 and you run about $1 a liter....the same as I pay for brand name soda, less when it's BOGO. So while I appreciate it helping the planet by not adding plastic bottles and cans to our landfills, it's not saving me time or money and I don't like the way the soda flavorings taste (which I acknowledge has nothing to do with the machine itself). Even trying to return is a hassle. Amazon will not take it back and connects you directly with Drinkmate. They send you a form and you ship at your expense back to them...but only if it's in "new" condition. So if you use it, it's yours with no refund. I wasted close to $200 with this and syrups and such for it.

Easy to use great drinkmate
Love my red drinkmate. Watched online videos, read online reviews before using. Very easy to use. Very portable as it does not require electricity or batteries and is light weight. So many flavor options to add to water to make carbonated drinks. Juices, coffee, tea, all kinds of liquids can be carbonated.

Love this Fizz machine
I do love this , it is easy to use after a little bit of a learning curve but that could be me. It is quicker than my old SodaStream that died. You can also put in your flavorings first before attaching to the machine. The bottles fit nicely in my refrigerator door or shelves. You can also refresh any drink that goes flat. Just make sure you put on the cap for storage tightly to keep the fizz in.

4.5 Stars
This is a great machine with one little caveat. It can fizz anything. (If you are fizzing anything besides water start slow! My mistake was going full blast on some day old prosecco and it blew out the top of the machine.) It uses gas sparingly and can make one replaceable canister last much longer than o expected. The caveat? The smaller bottle achieves better results than the larger bottle. I find the water does not get as carbonated in the larger bottle so I find myself making multiple smaller bottles instead. I would love to see an adjustable pressure regulator so you can add more carbonation (of course within the limits of what the bottles can handle).

It can carbonate anything
I originally purchased a Aarke but found out it only carbonated water (which is fine). I use my Aarke for high balls and my DrinkMate for carbonated sodas (honey yuzu is my fav)
