The kettle doesn't have a cord. It needs to sit on the heating base which need to be plugged in. Hope it would help.

5 to 10 min depending on how much water is in it and the temp of the water

Pretty sure it is, but you could check with the manufacturer to be sure

how does it turn on, is there a switch?
