Insides turned to carbon, but NEVER lost equipment
Over the last 22+ years that I have been using this model, I have had at least 4 of them turned to carbon inside. But it did its job, and the equipment connected to it was untouched. Equipment not connected through this did not survive the same event...The protection circuit is well designed, and it disconnects the power when it fails.There are some other well known brands of "surge protector" that have survived, but the equipment has not. I would rather replace this than computers, monitors, UPS, etc. Yes, I recommend you plug your UPS into this! Which one would you rather replace?

Let though voltage is actually 500v, not 330v as in spec sheet

You can never go wrong buying an APC product. In 25+ years working in the computer hardware and networking industry, I ahve never once had an issue with an APC product.
