RazoRockAlum Block with Plastic Travel Case

Outstanding and long-lasting product
I purchased my first RazoRock Alum Block for $6.99 back in February 2014 (three years ago, see picture) and I am just now buying a replacement. Although the price has increased with the rising popularity of avoiding the near criminal price of store-bought razors, I believe it's well worth the price and I heartily endorse this product for anyone battling razorburn, bumps, and cuts.My ritual is pretty standard. I used a badger hair brush and shaving soap with hot water first, making as many passes as I need that day. Then I rinse with hot water, wet my alum block lightly, and rub it gently on my wet face to soothe any burning or cuts. Then (and this is the most important part for me personally) I rinse my face with cold water to close my pores and invigorate my face. Then I use George F. Trumper's Skinfood (pardon me for being so crass, but my wife loves the sandalwood scent) to moisturizer.I used to hate shaving, but I love my ritual now and this alum block is a big part of it. Hey, I'm not promising you anything, but three years ago when I started using this product I was a lonely stressed-out graduate student with a patchy beard. Now I'm a happily married PhD candidate with a beautiful wife (who loves it when I finish shaving), a father-to-be, and comfortably clean shaven. Thanks, RazoRock! *queue jingle*

Where have you been all my life.
turns out Great grandpa had it right. One blade, a nice shave soap, and alum block to sooth any irritation. No more walking around with your face smelling like alcohol. Just rub this on your cooled wet face and let it sit while you clean up after your shave. You can leave it on if you like. But most rinse after a minute or two. Follow up with a shave balm and your clean and comfy in no time

Simple yet effective!
A simple but great product. After shaving and rinsing I simply rub it over my still-wet face and let the block act as an astringent to close the pores and also sting a little to let me know where I shaved a little too close. I like it better than a styptic pencil as it serves the same purpose but is more robust (styptic pencils disintegrate after rinsing several times). Also, you can rub your fingertips on it and it will increase you grip on your razor by making it a bit less slippery.

Good case, the block crumbled apart
This is not a solid block of alum, but rather is a compressed block. After using it just a handful of times, one side of the block started crumbling apart. Within a few weeks, about 1/4 of the block was gone, crumbled to pieces. It seemed like after each use, more crumbled away than the previous time. The case is great, and the alum itself works fine if you're lucky enough to get a piece that doesn't fall apart. I wasn't so lucky. The case now holds an Osma alum block.

Ladies Need This Too!
The RazoRock Alum Block with Plastic Case is just what I needed for the pesky weepersone gets from shaving. I ran it under cold water and rubbed it on my legs after shaving witha DE razor for the first time in 50 years! No burning and the three small weepers quit bleeding immediately.I had ordered the RazoRock Alum Block that looks like a large chap-stick for my husband and son and they both like that size.I was right in thinking this was the perfect size for my legs. I also like the handy travel case. This product is not just for men. Ladies need this too! ~ Mrs. B.

Good Bye Body Odor
I use this for underarm deodorant. My shirts use to smell of body odor when I was using all those perfumed deodorants. Not any more. No odor what-so-ever. I rub this on after bathing every day, but if I forget to put it on that day, no problem. The alum still knocks out the BO.

Excellent product to use after shaving
Wow, More then fifty years shaving and finally discovered this product to use after shaving. There were a number of choices, I selected this one as it comes in a plastic box and I travel a lot. I wanted something that travels well. The alum really feels great after shaving. Just wet the block and rub it all over the shaved area. It works well whether shaving with a straight razor or a an injector razor.

Id buy it again.
I wasnt sure if i needed it because i would use a styptic pencil to quickly seal up any shaving nicks. Then apply aftershave. What i like about this product is,It gives you instant feedback on how good of a shave you did.The days i feel no stinging i know i did it rite,If i feel alittle burn i know i shaved alittle more aggressively in that area.It closes your pours fast and it has a skin tightening effect. You can use this as a stand alone no scent aftershave,But i tend to rinseit off with cold water after a few minutes and then put Clubman or Proaso after that.
