Great tape for my photo studio. Functions as it should - very sticky when needed but comes right up when I'm finished with it. I use this tape to hold down the seamless paper and even for fleece backdrops that I put on the floor. It keeps things from sliding around and then at the end it is very easy to pull it back up. Sometimes I can even keep the tape that I have pulled up and use it again. It doesn't leave a residue on the floor either. The size of the rolls is very good, lots of tape. This is worth the price and ordering online makes it very easy to keep in stock.

If you work in video production, broadcast, live audio, theatre, or any live event environment, gaffer tape is not an accessory — it is a necessity. It is the first thing you reach for and the last thing you want to run out of. As a longtime broadcast camera operator I carry two rolls on me at all times, and the list of situations gaffer tape has quietly saved is too long to recount in a product review. For the uninitiated: gaffer tape is a cloth-backed, matte black tape with a strong but cleanly removable adhesive. It secures microphones, tames cables, eliminates trip hazards, marks positions on stage floors, and handles a hundred other tasks that arise on a set or in a live environment — all without leaving residue on expensive gear, finished floors, or rental equipment when it comes off. That clean removal is what separates true gaffer tape from the duct tape impostors that share shelf space with it. They are not the same product and should never be treated as such. Not all gaffer tape lives up to the standard, and some products on the market use the name loosely without delivering the performance. The WELSTIK earns it. The adhesive holds reliably during use, releases cleanly when the job is done, cuts cleanly by hand without fraying, and gives you enough tape per roll to cover a serious workload. The cloth backing has the right resistance and tear characteristics that experienced users will recognize immediately as the real thing. THis is a good size at 2" accross, you can get wider if needed and there may be glow in the dark versions too. The one environmental caveat worth noting is that sustained moisture and heat are the natural enemies of any gaffer tape's adhesive performance. The WELSTIK holds well under normal and mild conditions — for extreme environments you may want to factor that in, but for the vast majority of stage, studio, and field applications it performs without issue. Worth adding for non-production buyers: gaffer tape has genuine utility around the house and workshop as well. Cable management, temporary fixes, labeling, securing items during a move — a little goes a long way and the clean removal means you are not committed to whatever you stick it to. I recently used a strip to organize cables in my IT cabinet and it handled the job perfectly. For price and quality, WELSTIK is the brand I recommend without hesitation. Keep two rolls on hand. You will use them.

I have 15 years exp in IATSE stage work. This is one of the weakest, least sticky tapes I've Ever used, like medical tape you got wet. It is the number one least sticky gaff tapes I've ever encountered. It actually Unsticks in under a day. On Every surface I tested. It's AMAZINGly good IF you don't want to peel the wallpaper off. If you want it to stick, tie it in a knot.

To be honest, you do get what you pay for it's not the best, but it works just fine. It's less sticky than the expensive brands, but that isn't all that bad for gaff tape. If you want to tape on a bumper, that would be a no, if you want to tape down cables for the day so people don't trip then your good and that is the point of gaff tape!

Both my granddaughter and I do some limited Roadie and Lighting Crew work for a touring concert band. We don't always have access to the supply box full of the crew gear when we start loading in. We use Welstik Gaffer Tape because of the overall value. It works great for securing those pesky cable runs across crucial areas of traffic on any stage. We've used it as Spike Tape to mark certain areas for gear or performers. There are two things which we have discovered over the last year using this particular Welstik product. It can sometimes, but not always, be difficult to tear which is only an occasional and minor concern. The other thing we've discovered is if it's left in a box on the trailer where it's susceptible to extreme temperature changes, the adhesive backing WILL STICK TO THE BACK OF THE TAPE when trying to roll out a length to use. Here's the rub. ALL TAPE DOES THIS so be careful about leaving it where it gets exposed to high temperatures over a long period of time. My thoughts? I do recommend this product! Welstick Gaffers Tape does exactly what it's supposed to do. If you need a good Gaffer Tape and don't want to go with the full-blown pro-level tape because of the price, then Welstik is your product! It WORKS!

Does not perform as gaff tape. More like a cloth painting masking tape. Not very sticky at all. Does not hold well enough.

This tape is fantastic, leaves no sticky residue at all, i use this for taping down my xlr cables & extension leads this stuff is a total game changer for me, rips off no problem at all, will be buying more.

The tape works okay and sticks well, but it does leave some residue behind. It’s not a huge deal, but it can be a bit annoying when cleaning up. Overall, it’s decent but not my favorite.
