Agatha Christie's Poirot, Series 2 [Blu-ray]

It seems that whatever Agatha Christie writes, it's entertaining. While I prefer Miss Marple (Margaret Rutherford version is best) and love Tommy and Tuppence, Poirot is fantastic and has been done with such a variety of actors that you must find at least one you like. For me, David Suchet is the best so far probably because he plays it straight as written and doesn't try to fashion it to his whims and fancies and Miss Lemon and Captain Hastings are also brilliantly done.

These are some beautiful well-produced and humorous shows. Suchet is great ! Again I must add how lovely and elegant the film work is. The supporting cast is superb! Very highly reccomend all of this Series.. love how he always has some kind of information that is never revealed in the plot, ha .

Interestingly the total file space needed to back up one of the Series 2 disks is about 9Gb. Series 1 disks required about 40Gb. I also noticed significantly less color depth in the Series 2 transfer versus Series 1. The image is with out a doubt sharper, but definitely lacks the color depth associated with Blu-ray. For that matter, so does Series 1, but to a lesser extent. Of course the limiting factors will be inherent in the source material. Series 3 suffers the same impairment as Series 2.

I have watched Poirot many times on PBS and I wanted to start watching the seasons so that I could see them all in order. This is the second set of Poirot DVD's I have purchased and I'm still loving them! My schedule is a little crazy with college and my other engagements, so when I get to have an hour or two to relax on the couch its wonderful to have a quality program with riveting storylines to watch. Poirot is one of the greatest set of detective stories of all time for a reason!

David Suchet - the ONLY one fit to play this character, Poirot! He is fantastic. In this articular series of 9 episodes, 3 each on 3 disks, the second one on Disk 2, at the end, I cracked up - the expression on his face as the story ends is classic!!! These are really good mystery's and good for the whole family! Suchet's facial expressions says it all. I have 3 of the series so far!

Arrived quickly and works great!

Years ago in high school, I was home sick from school and picked up my mother's Christie mystery, I was instantly hooked! Since then, Agatha Christie has always been my favorite mystery author. Poirot is so clever and he knows it.His arrogance is justified, he has earned it.It is one thing to visualize the story as I am reading it but it is a pleasure to be able to see his facial expressions as he contemplates and deduces to his conclusions. I can't get enough Christie!

ONE OF THE BESY MYSTERY SERIES I HAVE SEEN.THE WRITER OF THE SERIES IS INDEED TALENTED. IT IS NEVER BORING. YOU GET A LOT FOR YOUR MONEY WHEN YOU BUY ANY OF THIS SERIES. THE GUY THAT PLAYS POIROT THE PRIVATE DETECTIVE DOES A GREAT JOB PLAYING HIS PART. I FEEL THIS MYSTERY SERIES WOULD NOT BE NEAR AS GOOD IF THIS SHORT PRIVATE DETECTIVE WASN'T IN THE SERIES.

Love this Poirot series! There are 9 short mysteries on 3 discs, each approximately 55 minutes long. The acting is superb! David Suchet is perfect as Poirot!

Surprise endings make this a great set to watch. Will continue to watch over and over again. Husband loves Poirot novels and is greatly enjoying the shows. Happy that they didn't modernize the shows like so many series do now a days. Worth the time to see if a Suchet fan.

J'adore cette série aussi bien l'acteur qui incarne à merveille le personnage d'Hercule Poirot. J'adore les intrigues d'Agatha Christie et les enquêtes menées par son grand détective. Les personnages secondaires sont très bons aussi. Merveilleuse atmosphère un peu surannée et si charmante du début du XXème siècle. Presque un témoignage du passé. Magnifique, je ne m'en lasse pas.

Both my husband and I enjoy Agatha Christie's works. Poirot series is excellent. We will be buying other DVDs in this series when we can afford it. We have bought other items through Amazon which are of excellent quality. Keep up the good selection.
