Does not require an independent source. **Q: I need a converter for my home a/v receiver.It has about a 110 watt x7 output.If possible I would like one that not need a 12 volt supply.** A: It dont run it straight to speakers **Q: what do I need to power it at home? Makes a huge difference because if you don’t use pure direct mode the receiver will digitize your analog signal for EQ and crossover purposes, this killing the analog signal path and removing the mojo. This works from speaker B output so I can go pure direct, and fill in the bottom with my best sub with signal from speaker B (all analog).
