Adventures in Mochimochi Land: Tall Tales from a Tiny Knitted World

Loved this so much, I ordered the sequel.
I would have never bought this book through Amazon just seeing the cover but I saw it in a bookstore and loved it. I'm not currently able to spend a lot of hours knitting, because these little items are something you can finish in an hour, it was very appealing to me. I'll admit, at least half the items to be made from the book are not things I think I could imagine I would make but, there were many in there that I would like the tiny donut, and the tiny cupcake. You definitely need to be able to know how to knit with US size 1 double pointed needles with fingering weight yarn to make these projects. If you haven't tried using dpn's before and really want to learn, I recommend practicing first on something with a larger number of cast on stitches than 4-6 (try something with at least 15 stitches on each needle). Some supplies you might find helpful are Sox Stix by Lantern Moon (5" long dpn's), and some "sampler" (20 yards) yarns by MadelineTosh at Jimmy Beans Wool (only $1.75 each) which is the same weight as the fingering weight/sock yarn recommended in the book so you don't have to spend money on a full skein of sock yarn (if you don't have leftovers laying around your house already).

Sequel!
I'm so excited to get another Anna Hrachovec book! I love her tiny knitting books and have made nearly every pattern in her first tiny mochimochi book, Teeny Tiny Mochimochi. I read through the entire thing and there are three stories in the book with different patterns as the characters. The only thing is, there are a very small number of creatures pictured that are not written as patterns. For instance, in the ocean story, the little seashells are not featured as a pattern, nor are the little clowns in the circus scene. (The clowns are available for a price on her website, but I guess they are not mentioned in the book for some reason.) Nevertheless, this book is not to be passed over. It is not full of repeats or anything, like many books are, but rather is different collection of tiny items and slightly larger scenery for three mochimochi land stories.I recommend this book to anyone who, like me, loved her first book and wants more of Anna's tiny knitting. :)

LOVE
I love Anna Hrachovec's work and this book didn't disappoint! All her patterns I've made come out beautifully, and I have 4 of her books. Some of the patterns aren't in the book BUT most of them are either published in previous books or on her website; some are published on her website free like the choc chip cookie pattern which is too adorbs! I contacted her abt a pattern that wasn't in the book (or other books or website) via her website and she took the time to respond personally. At first I wasn't thrilled abt the patterns, as I already have 3 other books, as I said, BUT the story that goes along is too cute and I have 3 lil kiddos that love little mini things. Very lovely patterns!!

Easy amigarumi, cute characters
This knitting pattern book is cutely laid out to read like a children's story book, which makes it impractical to quickly locate the actual pattern and wastes a whole lot of pages, but if you like to make fiddly little amigarumi... the patterns are easy enough and adorable. For the size of the book, I'd have liked a bit more content, but I don't regret the purchase.

Hilarious, beautifully photographed, and just plain awesome
Mochimochi Land is already one of my favorite places to visit online - but now there's an insanely awesome kooky storybook with knitting patterns for recreation in my own home! (; Anna Hrachovec is an incredibly talented and funny knit toy designer, and some of my favorite projects have been made from her patterns, but she takes the cake with this one - or should I say, the donut. Hungry donut - aaaaaaah! And yes - the ultimate test of a knitting book; have I knit anything from it yet? And the answer is YES - I knit two of the patterns within the week. And they were SO MUCH FUN!

Perfect Again!!
Another perfect book from Anna Hrachovec. I've been following her since the early days of her blog. And Anna just gets more creative and talented with each and every book. I liked the format of this book in particular. She shows you how to knit the characters for various stories or "installations" and then shows you how to set each one up. She is one of my favorite knitting designers and I own all her books. And I love them all.

Cuteness overload!
This book is so clever and amusing, three hilarious stories, illustrated with knitted creatures, props and scenery, and then patterns as well. My 8 yo granddaughter loves to read it over and over and then choose a mochi for me to knit. Utterly delightful 💛

Avis
J'ai ete assez déçue par ce livre. Tous les modèles ne sont pas expliqués. Il y a au final beaucoup d"images et pas assez de patrons à mon sens.
