A fantastic read!
Unlike the other people who work in fashion, Janey Sweet enjoys eating and she is not afraid to admit it. But when her business partner and best friend, Beau, tells her that she needs to lose weight or she will lose her job, Janey has no choice but to go on a diet and hit all the gyms, yoga classes and juice bars that New York has to offer – including the Free the Nipple Yoga that, as the title implies, is practised topless. Along with old and new friends, Janey embarks on weeks of diets and exercise but at what price? In the meantime, Janey’s cousin, Ivy, is having her own problems as she finds herself working for a gym where people pay lots of money to be insulted during the workout.I loved the authors’ first book, The Knockoff, so I was very excited about this new book and I wasn’t disappointed. Fitness Junkie is a hilarious, charming and terrific read. Some of the yoga and gym classes that Janey attends are ridiculous and seem so unrealistic that I was surprised to find out they really exist. Janey’s adventures as she tries class after class made me laugh out loud and I felt for her as throughout the novel she evaluates her relationship with Beau and finally discovers his true character. Janey, her best friend CJ, and her cousin Ivy are likable and honest.

5 Star fun read- writing/editing could be better
This was a fun read. The story is both relatable and satirical- it jabs at the ridiculousness of the fitness industry while also telling a story of self discovery after the main character finds herself at an all time low. (But not too low- this is fun fiction..not tear jerking or sadness inducing...)I took off a star only because I think the writing could have been a bit more finetuned and the editing a bit better (caught a few typos)...but I found it to be a fun read with characters and a message that lingered even after I had finished the book. Sure it’s more of a beach read than a life changing piece of literature, but it is a great quick, uplifting (and sarcastic) book should you find yourself in need of an escape. It’s certainly fun and I recommend it!

Could've Been Better (SPOILERS AHEAD)
I read a lot of stories focusing on weight loss in women, and this was finely crafted. The beginning to the end was intentionally pieced together, and the characters were pretty dazzling (yes, even Ivy). Despite this, I can't help but feel as though the stories in which the woman can't seem to love her body while losing weight is getting old. Yes, I am a lover of raw juices and die hard fitness, but I don't frequent Whole Foods for organic stuff or buy $400 haircuts. I shop wellness and retail sites (yes, this includes Amazon) for cheap deals on healthy eating items. I work full time, sometimes overtime, for a living, but I'm also a thin, laid back woman. Can't the allegories of the fitness and wellness industry appeal to those of us who live this way? Not everyone who is a size 4 is as neurotic as Beau or the women at the St. Lucia retreat. Just my two cents as a consumer. I guess it doesn't amount to much, since I DID enjoy the satirical nature of the book, but the idea that Janey couldn't possibly be happy since losing 30 pounds and had to put the weight back on instead of living healthily at the previous size just irks me.

From Fat to Fit
I really enjoyed this novel. It was cute, an easy read, with a good basic message underlying. This novel is a personal discovery for the main character, what I liked about it, was while she was rich and could afford more than most, we all can relate to the need to find yourself. It starts off with her best friend and business partner "breaking up" with her. Though I've never had a business partner, I've definitely had friendship breakups, so right away I was along for the ride.He tells her she's "too fat" to continue working with him, per their contract. So she delves into some crazy fitness fads and diet fads to attempt to lose the weight and win him back. As a person who spends her money on running shoes, books, and bath and body works, I haven't tried things like SoulCycle, but the main character did it for me! I was happy to read along. She ends up finding out that it's not about weight, it's about being strong and confident in who you are. A great lesson to learn and to communicate and the author does it well. It's an enjoyable read with humor and emotion. I definitely recommend it!

Fun beach /summer read
Enjoyed reading Jo Piazza's How to Be Married during my destination wedding, and downloaded this for my honeymoon.Had some laugh-out loud funny moments, and was the perfect light beach read. Enjoyed the satire of the lengths people will go for fashion, fitness and looks. Will read The Knockoff, and find a bruffin!

Not really good
Their first book was amazing and I had a blast reading it, but this one is just one mess of a book, not really fun to read, not really that entertaining and seems like a hurried afterthought more than a full written book. Would be on the look for their next book but i wouldn't recommend this one.

Entertaining!
An entertaining, albeit true, poke at society's obsession with appearance. The parallels between Janey's story and many women are bang on. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Fun and breezy
A funny, biting satire relating to the current wave of Instagram-obsessed, clean-eating, boutique fitness class trends. The storyline isy predictable, being chick lit, but it's a very fun, breezy read and perfect for a flight or a wet weekend.
