18 Inch Plush Bombay Shelby Bear Stuffed Animal by Russ Berrie,2007

This saved a giant heartache.There is no comparison to quality of this bear. He is SUPER soft and lasts for years, even against years of daily tot abuse.We were woke up by my 6 year old screaming and panicking before dark. I thought he was hurt, but I was sadly mistaken. He comes in bawling "Harley murdered Shelby". (Harley is our Rotty) He is not a stuffed-animal type of kid, but this one was purchased by my husband when my son was infant, because he was deploying. I tried to save him, but there was no saving poor Shelby so we bagged up what was left of him, and took him to the ER. The triage nurse was great! She explained to my sobbing child that the doctor would fix him up and in a few days we could pick him up. I quickly found this one on Amazon and ordered him. So after 3 days of my poor little man worrying himself to death, we went back to the Hospital to pick up the "fixed" Shelby. I have never been so thankful for small-town kindness, and being able to find a 5 year old special edition bear on Amazon.Thank you Russ Berrie for creating a treasured friend for my child. He loves this bear so much, and at the age of 7, still sleeps with it everynight.

I bought this little guy to use as a Christmas decoration, sitting in a vintage Mexican Folk Art chair. I thought he was cute and he's just the right size, plus the marked down price was great. From the picture, I thought he looked a little stiff and formal, when I really wanted something softer and "floppier." However, for just $7.45 for an 18 inch bear, I decided I could live with stiff and formal. I was thrilled when he arrived just a few days later and I discovered that he was actually very soft and cuddly. It doesn't bother me at all that his foot says "2007." I have a lot of dated Christmas decorations, that go back to 1977, so he fits right in. People will just assume he has been around a little longer than he actually has. :D

I ordered 5 of these bears based upon the picture and price. I donated them to a children's hospital in SC to be given at Christmas to children suffering from autoimmune diseases. Since I had them shipped directly to the person in charge, I did not personally have a chance to see them, but they told me they were "gorgeous". I hope they meet their goal this year!

Oober soft and cooperative fur! I was able to carefully snip the threads that held the scarf in place. It's a nice red and green scarf, but I wanted an all-season bear! To cover up the 2007 on his paw, I am planning to use children's slippers, shoes or boots ... Also, there's a cord at the top of Shelby's head for hanging. I'm not using that feature, but the color of the cord blends right in and is not obnoxious, so I won't be snipping it off.

I didn't realize there was a 2007 stamp on the foot of the bear. Should be cheaper if they have been holding onto this thing for 11 years!

This bear is absolutely gorgeous! I saw the price and knew that I had to have it... for my dog. He loved stuffed animals and this bear is perfect for him. He loves it. Don't even care that it says "2007" on it. The bear has a cute scarf on it, too. I'm impressed by the quality, durableness and how cute it is.

Softest bear ever. I loved it until I realized the date 2007 was on it. Did not see this when I ordered. So, if you don't mind that it says 2007 on the foot than this is a great bear! If you're giving it as a gift...not sure you'd want it to say 2007.
