Space-Saving and Solid Performance
The PowerBlock adjustable dumbbells have been a fantastic addition to my home gym. They’re incredibly easy to adjust—just slide the selector pin and you’re ready to go. The weight range is perfect for everything from light toning to heavy lifting, and the compact design saves a ton of space compared to a full rack of traditional dumbbells. The build quality is excellent—very sturdy with a balanced feel during lifts. I was a bit skeptical about the blocky shape at first, but it hasn’t interfered with any exercises. In fact, they feel more stable than I expected. If you're looking for a versatile, durable, and space-efficient solution for strength training at home, these are absolutely worth the investment.

Dependable, sturdy, simple, classic.
This company has been around a while, and for good reason. It's sturdy, the range of weight and increments give you a lot of flexibility with use, simple mechanism, and the fact that this particular model is expandable is a great value if you're just starting out and want to have the option of growing. As long as you know what you're getting, this is a great adjustable dumbbell. Newer types of adjustable dumbbells are in the more traditional shape, but there's a cost and complexity that comes along with them that make them less reliable.

Best Buy For The Money lb per lb
This set of dumbbells are awesome. First they are a great space saver. Second, they are safe and quick to adjust. Also, there are many other mechanical adjustable dumbbells that are similar but the weights get stuck as the locking system wares down over time. However, this system is not mechanical, the adjustable pin system is easy to use and never fails to slide out the weight amount as you need, it's full proof and they never get stuck. The paint finish and quality are excellent. Also, I like the smaller foot print of their design and I though they would be awkward to handle but just the opposite is true. Since they are compact I feel I can handle the heavier weight with more control. I am close to 60 and for me 50 lbs is probably enough for most exercises, but for certain exercises such as shoulder shrugs I can still jump up to 70lbs on each hand. I like that I can increase to 90 lbs but I probably won't need to get there I my age. Regardless, if you're not a professional body builder and plan on exceeding 90lbs on each hand these are a great deal and product. I am extremely happy I bought them as they have done an amazing job with the design and the person who created this system really though outside the box. Oh and by the way, the box design is also a bonus especially when you go heavy and you plant them on top of your knees to kick them up for a dumbbell press. You'll see if you buy them. BTW, I don't have any endorsement with this company I just was impressed with the overall value I received, I know a good product when I use one and this is a great product.

These Really Are The World's Best Dumbbells!
The durability on these dumbbells are far beyond expectations. I recently purchased my second pair. My son moved out to college, so I gave him my older version I bought 21 years ago which almost look and function like the day I bought them (ofcourse with some scratches) Viewers say you can't drop them and yes it's true to a certain extent. But over 21 years there have been times I mistakenly did drop them. No damage just scratches. LET'S GET TO BUSINESS! PROS: Fast Adjusting Very Durable Less Wider than most adjustable dumbbells Easy On your thighs because they're flat at the ends Don't Rattle as much Being Square will NEVER roll off on you Expandable (you're not obligated to purchase highest weight) 2.5 lbs Increments Great Customer Service Feel really good in your hand CONS: Slightly Expensive (buy once... cry once) Shouldn't Be Dropped You Pass On, a family/friend will inherit them 😆

Pays for a gym membership easily
My wife goes to Gold’s gym. It’s like $60 a month. I used to go a lot to planet fitness but she went to golds to be with her friends and I canceled mine hoping to go with her as a guest like she did with me. Problem is she likes to go at 7am no thank you. Instead of getting two memberships at gold’s or one gold’s one planet fitness I just bought these. Incredible quality and zero concern of weights falling on my face like in reviews of even expensive toggle weights like Bowflex. UPDATE: Bowflex just got recalled in the US for weights falling off June 2025 lol. Don’t even get me started on the FitRx ones and the recall they had lol. I do agree with others that I wish the weight stopper was metal, but even as plastic it feels like it holds reaaaaally well. Square shape is strange to look at but does not hinder movements if you adjust grip as needed. I had no problems doing full body workout.

Great adjustable weights!
I have started to work out again and found these at a good price on Amazon. I used to own a bigger set of PowerBlocks years ago, and loved them, but sold them when I stopped working out. I have used their smaller "sport" set for decades, and they sit on the floor under the big ones :-). These are great! Easy to adjust, easy to use, and probably all the weight this senior citizen will need :-). Purchased their folding stand also, which makes a big difference in ease-of-use! Heartily recommend!

Very Well Made Adjustable Dumbbell Set That Stands Test of Time
The first time I saw these PowerBlock Adjustable Dumbbells was back in the late 90's / Early 2000's at my cousin's house. He still has the same set to this day, which speaks well to build quality / longevity. Also, these are expandable up to 90 lbs per block I believe. Having used his over the years when considering the available options for adjustable dumbbells I decided to go with this set as it's still the same design as far as I can tell. These are very well made, and easy to adjust with a simple adjustment clip that slides in an out. In the default configuration they are adjustable in 10 lbs increments from 10-50 lbs. Inside each handle are two 2.5 lb weights that can be removed to allow for adjustment in smaller increments. I also really like the way these feel when gripping them; in my hands they feel very secure the way the grip is designed, which is especially important for heavier weights. Where I do have a little bit of buyer's remorse when comparing to NordiTrack's and BowFlex's offerings in this area is the simplicity of adjusting in smaller increments in the competitors' products... i.e. don't need to open a lock and remove cylindrical weights, rather just turn a dial basically, at least as far as I can tell from the product descriptions. I do really like this product. I'd say for those out there that are looking to lift heavy, or don't care about quickly/easily adjusting in 2.5 or 5 lbs increments instead of 10, then I'd highly recommend these PowerBlocks. And definitely the Elite EXPs since you have room to grow with the available expansion packs. For those who regularly lift light weights, or quickly want to switch between 2.5, 5, or 10 lb increments, I'd likely consider trying one of the other options I mentioned. Hope that's helpful!

So very happy I decided on these adjustable dumbbells!
After much research and review reading I pulled the trigger on Power Block Elite EXP. Have been using for about a month now and I love them! Very easy to transition between weights (esp. like the “adder weights” for the incremental changes!), and the design with the flat ends makes it so much better to be able to rest these on your thighs for bench presses etc.! I was curious if the “caged” grip would be an issue, but I actually find it really helpful, as for some exercises I can kinda’ rest my wrist on the pad to aid in stability. Build quality is great and the mag pin locking/weight adjustment "fork" is secure and keeps the weights very tight with almost no shifting at any angle. Just make sure you’ve got the pins lined up correctly on the slots for the weight, slide & lock in (you'll get a subtle "click" from the magnets) and you’re good to go! I also got the compact stand from Power Block and it’s a great addition. It really helps with not having to make adjustments to the weights on the floor but at a good sturdy working height so you can rack/change lbs./adder weights, and un-rack easily. Looking forward to be able to add the expansion kits as I progress!
