Well built; better than a rack of dumbbells.
Initially, I preferred the adjustable dumbbell versions as the quick change feature appealed to me. Having looked a bit closer and considering the reviews of the twist-adjust options, I chose this particular product as it is simple, no hardware to come loose or fall apart and compact in design. Fine tuning the weight you want to work with is not as simple as twisting the grip, but it is relatively easy nonetheless. The weight selector forks could be a bit longer so that they fully engage the rod of the weight packs at the far end when fully inserted, but so far they've not posed a problem as designed. I'm good with my purchase and would recommend them for consideration. Having the option of adding to the pack for heavier loads is also a plus.

Best dumbbell ever
I’ve had these for two years and still haven’t gotten tired of them. They’re still holding up like the day I bought them. The pin system is great because there’s no chance of mechanical failure unlike a locking mechanism. The ability to go up to 90 lbs is very nice, it’s unfortunate you can’t go above 100 though. My favorite thing about these dumbbells is how balanced they feel. Having five bars connecting the weight evenly allows for perfect weight distribution, it’s hard to go back to regular dumbbells. I also love the rectangular shape of the weights, it allows for a better range of motion in exercises such as shoulder presses or bench presses. I can’t recommend these enough for a home gym

SOLID
I've had these for a little while now and really like them. I had tried one of the cheaper options that you rotate to engage different plates and they felt a little gimmicky. I've read tons of reviews on PowerBlocks and everyone loves them. Yes, the balance is a little weird, and adding incremental weight to the handles is both inconvenient and messes with the balance even more, but I see the unbalanced aspect as just something to get used to - and once you've accepted it, you can also tell yourself that you're working more stabilizer micro muscles. They also kinda suck for wrist curls, but they can be done with these weights. I'm mostly bouncing between 25 and 35 pounds right now depending on the exercise and find it really easy to switch the weights. They also make pretty decent kettle bells by gripping the bottom two bars of the frame - I pretty much just use this for goblet squats. I will also use one of the bottom handlebars when doing single leg Romainian deadlifts - it seems to be easier to balance with the weight hanging down just a little bit. These really shine for shoulder presses and inclined dumb bell presses, and hanging onto while doing things like lunges, they start to feel a little bulky for bicep curls and tricep extensions. I love how solidly they sit on the floor too - I even use them for step-downs. Pretty comfortable for adding weight to glute bridges and adding weight to crunches too. Between these, a pull-up bar (these are great for rows but I prefer to do them dangling from a bar ;), and a hyper-extension bench I have a nice little home gym setup here.

Love it but may take a while to fully utilize it
This pair of power blocks sure looks awkward at first impression. One can’t not really call them dumbbells anymore given its unconventional shapes. After quite some research I set my eyes on them and the only competition I had was NordicTrack ones since I had been using their treadmill for a few months and loved it. However, the reviews did show NordicTrack ones are easy to break and this pair has longer warranty. They came well packed, one by FedEx and one by Amazon and the manual is very easy to follow and it also conspicuously asks you not to cut the ties on the handles. I strongly suggest you get the accompanying stand as well as it will make your life much easier unless you already have stand to accommodate them. It does make some squeaking sound while lifting it up but I have heard it’s normal for any adjustable weight. I could barely notice the sound or blocks moving while exercising with them. So far, I love them and the build seems to be very solid and hopefully the handles will last long, which are solid though made of plastic. The handles feel better than a tradition dumbbell one after you get used to it. I believe the weight actually is distributed more evenly. I also ordered the 50-70 lb extension (you have to get elite pro one) but later retuned it. I could lift 45lbs of flour or rice bag up easily one handed at supermarket so naturally think maybe I will be able to use the extension soon. Well, boy am I wrong! I guess may be due the distribution of the weight of these blocks or whatever reason, it may takes me a while to fully utilize the 50lbs with reasonable number of repetitions. I recommend “Ultimate Guide to Strength Training” or something like ifit trading program if you are not hiring a personable trainer. This way, you could prevent injury to yourself as they are heavy though you could select weights staring from five lbs. Overall, it’s very nice to have them and I expect they could help my strength training years ahead.

Awesome. A must have in a home gym!
These things are awesome! Easy to adjust and they can be heavy. I love these. It literally takes the place of 9 pairs of dumbbells. A huge space saver.

Great space-saving option, with a small learning curve for certain lifts
The PowerBlock Elite EXP Adjustable Dumbbells have been a really solid addition to my home gym overall. Big win for space and versatility. Being able to adjust weight quickly without needing a full rack of dumbbells is a huge advantage, especially for home setups. The build feels durable and well-made, and switching weights is fast once you get used to the system. Works great for most exercises. For things like rows, presses, curls, and general strength work, they do exactly what you’d expect and make it easy to progress weight without clutter. Slight downside with certain movements. The only real adjustment is with single-dumbbell exercises like overhead presses. The shape/design can feel a little different compared to traditional dumbbells, so there’s a small learning curve there. Best for: Home gyms with limited space People who want a wide range of weights without buying multiple sets General strength training and progressive overload Not ideal for: Those who prefer the feel of traditional round dumbbells Exercises that rely heavily on single-dumbbell balance or positioning Bottom line: If you want a compact, adjustable system that replaces an entire rack of dumbbells, these are a great investment. Just expect a short adjustment period for certain movements.

Fantastic home gym addition
These dumbbells are great, I bought them when it came time to upgrade my home gym. They're super easy to set up. They're very heavy-duty and easy to switch out once you get used to it. Even the inner small weights are easy to pull in and out on the fly. The one thing I do recommend is to get a stand for the dumbbells if you don't already have one.

Great adjustable dumbbells
Edit 12/4/23 I bought the last expansion pack to complete the set from 5-90lbs. Original review: Unlike some others I got my dumbbells and plastic selector rods intact although one box was a little beat up otherwise it survived the delivery process. The box seemed to be taped together to denote a pair but the tape was only on one box so it was probably separated on purpose and address labels were on both boxes. Opening the boxes reveals the selector rods on top of a styrofoam covering the dumbbells and it is cradled on a form fitted styrofoam bottom for travel but I would not be surprised if there are accidents when shipping. I had the bowflex 552 for 12 years and wanted to expand the weight of the dumbbells so I picked up the power blocks I don’t have a gym membership and I’ve been working out at home for 20 years. So I’m not too familiar with the single weight dumbbells. But weight is weight their prob more compact and it more stable than adjustable dumbbells. When I first received I didn’t like the rubber grip because it felt greasy. It was slipping from my grip so I cleaned it with a Clorox wipe and it has improved drastically. I don’t know why people hate the cage of the hand that much. I like the cage handle. I actually turn the weight so when I pick it up the padded cage “bars” leans on my wrist so I use that to stabilize the weight as I perform my dumbbell bench pressing. This is an advantage I feel. The annoying thing is the two 2.5 adder weights to add or subtract for smaller incremental increases or decreases. On this powerblock the adder weight chamber gets locked as you return the handle to the weights. You won’t be able to operate the blocks without closing them. Also need to be mindful of the rod selector as you are choosing your weight make sure its level and is capturing the weight you want. It can easily go in lopsided Another thing I found was that when you’re doing bicep curls the red tab can get snagged on your pants/shorts as you’re curling up. I have rectified it by turning the block 180 degrees so those tabs are on the outside so it won’t snag. Also do not drop these weights it might get twisted and a bit mangled Although there is no cradle you still have to return the weights gently into the weight stack. The weights feel great in the hand and it smaller when your using less weight as opposed to the bowflex 552 which has the same length through out. OverallI recommend these weghts for your gym

Muy buenas
Fáciles de usar, duras. Sencillas y efectivas. Lo de poder quitar las dos cargas de 1kg a la vez, o separadas, es buenísima idea. Las recomiendo para gente que entrena en serio en su gimnasio de casa
