Fast, easy, and highly functional replacement of original Maglite bulb
I have an infrequently used 3 D cell Maglite. It worked well, but battery life and bulb fragility made me want to replace the incandescent bulb with an LED. This unit was very easy to install and provides light that is both brighter and whiter than the original bulb, even with old batteries. This leads me to believe that battery life will be improved. When set to spot the beam is well-formed and bright. When set for broad beam there is dark spot in the middle of the field, which I did not find troublesome. Other reviews mention this as well. For me it is a very small concern that does not detract from the functionality and value of the device

3 Cell Maglight Revived
As mentioned in other reviews, the mag lights are too expensive and solidly constructed to just throw away. I’ve had mine for 20 years or so and it was displaced by small led flashlights that were much brighter (mostly Fenix), so it was exiled to a reverse purgatory, where stuff that’s too good or expensive to throw away (usually both) languish until enough years go by and I do a brutal purge and toss them.I recently made a decision to try an led upgrade on the flashlight/lantern that came with my Makita tools and bought the LudoPam bulb for 18 volts. It worked well enough that I ordered the bulb for my 3 cell flashlight. The bulb came quickly and was a direct replacement for the old one. It’s really bright and I expect great battery life from it. Yes, it has “ring around the collar” as mentioned in other reviews, and it isn’t going to replace my good led flashlights that were designed for non replaceable leds. It will reside close to an outside door and be available to check out things that go bump in the night in the surrounding acreage, and the newer, smaller flashlights will be in the nightstand, vehicle console, and my wife’s purse.

75% More Bright, More Rugged, Much Less Power Consumption Over Original Bulb
Exact drop-in into my ~30 year old 3-D cell baton, uh, flashlight. The original focus feature of the Mag is still functional. The light is slightly yellow in output. I don't have access to all the instrumentation to give you numbers on color, brightness, etc. These are all compared to the original type xenon bulb. About 3/4 the yellowness (is that a word?) and about 175% brightness of the original bulb. I looked into it and compared to the original bulb, it really hurts the ol' orbs! I have my own tests, eh? I would expect it to be much more impervious to the flashlight being dropped or accidently hitting things. The batteries should last much longer. Worth the money if the LED "bulb" lasts several years.

Brighter and bluer (colder) light.
Drop in replacement for my 2x C Cell maglite flashlight. The color is colder (bluer light) , but importantly at the same batteries the light is visibly brighter which will make for a better usage in a dark garage. Will update review if the bulb doesn’t hold up or performance changes.

Works for Maglight 3 D Cell Flashlight (make sure your batteries are fresh) is Bright
Works fine for Maglight 3 D Cell Flashlight. is bright. Had to replace my batteries since they were below 4 Volts. Lamp requires 4 Volts or greater. (3 D cell batteries @ 1.5 Volts each = 4.5 Volts). Don't know how long the flashlight will last since LED bulb requires 4 V or greater to operate.

Junk
Stopped working after a few months with minimal use. I’d say under 30 mins total…

Was good until I got caught in the rain!
Purchased 6/2021 price was on the high side, but it made my 3 cell mag light usable and was pleased with brightness,I have used light for maybe 2 to 4 hours since installing bulb, but the other night I was walking our German shepherd & we were caught in the rain not a hard rain, maybe 20mins before we got home bulb had gone weak & went out completely, next day replace battery,s nope bulb had turned white with swelling it had drawn moisture, mag lights are water proof/resistant so I did a test of my own, a submerge flashlight in bucket of water maybe 2mins no leaks, but before test where the bulb sets was moist on the glass,my thoughts was light was hot & condensation built up and blew the bulb, anyway I'm purchasing a new one, just don't use it I. The Rain.

Huge improvement! Bright white light
I have an old 2 battery mag light that I never used because it was to dim. It’s now a nice bright white and back in use.

WOW. Make your Mag-Lite great again!
I've had this old (30 years) Mag-Lite flashlight collecting dust in my tool cabinet. I was going to throw it away since I never used it due to new style flashlights are so much better! I decided to see if adding a LED bulb would make this old school light as good and usable again. YUP! it sure does! Its 3-4x as bright and way more focused. You won't be disappointed!Since I just got the bulb, I'm not sure how long it will last. I will report back is it fails prematurely.

Easy conversion.
Torch resurrected - works well.

It's good - but not the brightest LED element in the world...
I'm fairly happy with this conversion kit, it's a great way to combine 21st lighting century technology with Maglight build quality, and the result is undoubtedly *way* brighter than the original Maglite filament lamp. The only reason for 4 stars not 5 is the brightness. There are some really bright/powerful LED arrays on the market today, so for similar money to this maglite conversion kit you can buy entire flashlights with much higher light output (though these are plastic bodied, dubious quality, Chinese made flashlights, so don't really stand comparison with a 'converted' Maglite)tl;dr This will modernise your Maglite, but for super-powerful light buy something else
