The Cut, Color, and Consistency are Superior to Anything Five Times The Price
As a professional musician and guitar tech, I highly recommend your change out your old plastic, ebony, and faux tortoiseshell pins for a set of solid bone bridge pins and these do not disappoint.I installed these on a Martin D18 guitar and a Gibson J-200. The Martin fit perfectly and the Gibson required a little sanding of the pins to fit flush on the bridge (see below). The color of the pins is as advertised, unbleached bone (my favorite), the color is consistent on all six pins, the Abalone dot inlaid looks great and is uniform on all pins.I have replaced bridge pins on most of my guitars and many of my client’s guitars and it is important to know about the fit. First, use a digital calibrator to measure the pins on the guitar to be certain the new ones will fit. Sometimes it is necessary to use fine sandpaper to sand down the pin shaft to properly fit the bridge (my Gibson J-200). Do not underestimate this very simple step since it can make all the difference in the fit, appearance, and effectiveness of the bone bridge pins. There are a lot of myths, arguments, and debates about the sonic effectiveness of bridge pins. In my opinion, something organic as opposed to plastic (fake), just makes sense when dealing with an acoustic guitar. Not to mention, bone is far superior in longevity and sustain over ebony, plastic, or other synthetic materials. On some guitars, the pins have produced definable, measurable, and conclusive sonic advantages. On others, the results showed a negligible difference. Many people find a positive difference in the sound using bone bridge pins. In any case, bone bridge pins are of superior quality, a longer-lasting material, and a better-looking component for your guitar.

The Best I've Used
I've bought quite a few sets of bone pins for my acoustics over the years but these Vencemat bone pins are some of the best I've seen. They are well-machined and consistent pin-to-pin. They were a perfect drop-in on my 000 Custom Martin (no sanding required) and the quality of the abalone inlays are very good - they really complement the abalone rosette and fretboard markers on this guitar. The tone from these pins vs the TUSQ pins I had is a nice (but subtle) improvement – increased volume and sustain, better string separation. I highly recommend!

Good fit and sound on Martin Guitar
Fit perfectly in my Martin Dreadnaugt. Will buy again. First four photos are without flash and the last with to try to show the color. Love these. My Martin sounds and looks great (I have bone nut and saddle) so this was a nice addition. Very pleased.

Great Upgrade for a Cheaper Guitar!
So I received these pins fairly quickly, actually one day before it was supposed to be here.I noticed right away that one pin is missing an abalone dot, not a huge deal for me, they are going on a cheaper guitar, but some people may be disappointed if this happens to them. For what I paid I cant really complain. They DO look, feel, and sound like real bone when handled in your hand. I installed them on a Samick Greg Bennett D-1 (Left Handed). They are slightly too big, but it's nothing a bridge pin reamer cant fix. I'm not worried. But again, pay attention to dimensions if you have a more expensive guitar.Overall, as far as sound change or quality from these, they are a FAR better pin than the plastic ones the guitar came with, and I noticed a tone change. It seems to sound slightly more full. I did notice for my guitar it didnt seem to gain brightness as stated in some other reviews, but it kind of mellowed the tone a little. All in all, that being said the guitar didnt have mind blowing tone to begin with, it was decent, but these bone pins do make a noticeable difference and it isnt a negative difference by any means. They are a good value and I would definitely recommend these to someone getting them to upgrade a cheaper guitar. Based on the missing abalone dot, I would say if you are particular just be aware QC may not be the greatest as far as aesthetics, but they are solid pins as far as structure.Decent product....just a few things that didnt match up with other reviews and what the seller was portraying.

Adds Brightness and Definition
When compared to rosewood pins, these unbleached bone bridge pins add brightness and clarity to the tone. I initially installed them on my Martin D15, and the guitar was immediately louder, brighter, and had more string to string definition. They added real depth to the bass, in fact the guitar sounded a lot closer to my 50 year old Martin D18.Unfortunately the D-15 lost that really woody midrange sound I prize it for, and I will be changing back to the wooden pins. I have plans to use these bone pins on another finger style guitar that would really benefit from them. I am looking forward to hearing what they do for my 47 year old O sized finger style guitar (Mahogany/Spruce), and based on my experience with the pins so far, I think they will be a perfect match.Unbleached bone is so hard, much harder than bleached bone, and despite this hardness, these pins are really well finished and polished to a high gloss. They look great next to the unbleached bone saddle. Still, it's all about the sound, so if you need more life, brightness of better note to note definition, these will help you get there at a good price.

Big Improvement Over Plastic!
I recently purchased a Gretsch White Falcon Rancher acoustic guitar, a very nice ax, but for reasons best known to the manufacturer, it shipped with white plastic bridge pins, bridge and nut. Replacing the pins with genuine bone noticeably improved the sound of the guitar, or else the placebo effect made me think they did. Seriously, though, I'm sure it sounds a bit warmer and more *there* than it did with the plastic pins.I plan to order a new bone nut and bridge from this same company and have a luthier friend of mine install them. One caveat, though: the pins were a bit too wide for my particular guitar. I had to sand them down slightly, which FINALLY gave me a reason to use the Dremel tool I purchased five years ago. I bought the white bone pins with the abalone dot and they look great on the guitar!
