Levoit Air Purifier for Home Pets Hair Allergens in Bedroom Quiet Purifiers

I only just got this yesterday and used it last night for the first time but I feel compelled to write a quick review already. This thing is a game. changer. Ever since moving to Texas, I suffer from terrible seasonal allergies. I never have in my life until now (turns out I'm allergic to a handful of trees that are native around here. Fun.) Some years are worse than others but this year is baaad. For the past few weeks my mornings have had me waking up congested and unable to breathe, blowing wads of snot out of my nose (sorry!), and with a itchy/scratchy sore throat. First thing I do is take an allergy pill and wait in misery until it finally seems to kick in around mid morning. (I've had a terrible time finding meds that work too. It just sucks.) I don't know why I never thought to get an air purifier. I guess when I thought of air purifiers I'd always think of the fancy Dyson ones that cost hundreds of dollars. I mean, puh-lease. Not happening. Then I found this little guy. Had great reviews, was the perfect little size for our master bedroom (216sqft), and reasonably priced with reasonably priced replacement filters. In a plee of desperation I talked my husband into us trying it. It got in yesterday (quicker than expected, yay!). I immediately unboxed it upon getting home from work and plugged it in. It says you only need to run it for about 15-20 minutes on high to cycle the room but I set that little baby on high with a two hour timer and let it run. When it was time for bed, I set the 6 hour timer on sleep mode. The sleep mode is great. It's a lot more quiet than I expected. I still expected to be able to hear a little white noise from it (which doesn't bother me at all) but unless I lift my head off the pillow and really listen, I can only just baaarely hear it. And I have it on my side of the bed about 3 feet away. Our home air system is louder than it on sleep mode. If you enjoy white noise, you could probably just run it on low and be fine. It has a button to turn off the indicator lights at night too so you don't have bright lights keeping you awake if that's a problem for you. Anyway, I woke up this morning with NO allergy symptoms. None. No congestion, absolutely clear nasal passages, and NO sore throat at all! I'm blown away. I'll try to come back and revise this review if my opinion changes but after the first night and the relief I was FINALLY able to feel from my allergies this morning I absolutely rate this thing 5 stars. Worth every penny!

These things are amazing I got one for my daughters nursery because I wanted her to have the best environment i could give her.I love how quiet it is and how much better the air quality is I recently replaced the filter it was so gross now this is one of 3 air purifiers in our house but my favorite I have an Austin and a Conway. I don’t like the Conway because the highest setting it moves across the floor and the Austin is great but there’s no notification when you need to change the filter so you have to pay attention to it. this device is excellent because it lets you know when you need to replace the filter it doesn’t take up a lot of space. It’s cute and simple. Light indicator is great to save you from having to look the last time you bought filters for something.

Amazing! I bought this to handle dust, pet dander, and pet odor. I’ve had it for 6 months already and it has been so effective at reducing the amount of dust in the home. (See the attached photo from when I just swapped out the filter at 6 months. Crazy how much it’s picking up even when I vacuum twice a week). It’s not a perfect solution for pet odor. You definitely need to stack this as a solution with regular pet bedding cleaning and opening windows occasionally but overall it helps with baseline smells. It’s relatively quiet on the second highest setting. The highest setting is as loud as a white noise machine on a medium setting (so if you have a baby like I do this could be a two in one air purifier and sound machine). Overall I would definitely recommend to make keeping your home clean a bit easier! I bought two of them - one for my home office where my dog sits in there all day with me and one for the master bedroom. I’m not sure how it would work in much larger spaces but it works well in medium-sized bedrooms.

Bought one for my mom and one for my sister in law. Good thing I bought it for my sister in law because a couple months later the devastating wildfire in the Palisades of Los Angeles happened. So the entire LA county was full of smoke. Hopefully it helped but I'm not entirely sure how well it cleans the air because the amount of air that gets pushed out the top is not as forceful as my own air filters at home. My decades old Hunter air purifier has a ton more air flow it's almost like a high power fan. But I think it is able to move so much air because it doesn't have a pre-filter like all the new air purifiers use. It just uses replaceable HEPA filters and I know it works because I see all the dust it catches in the filter before I have to replace it. As for the Levoit it has a pre-filter which catches most of the dust and dirt but you never know how much actually gets through to the actual HEPA filter. I recommend the Levoit for smaller bedrooms, it's too small to do anything in a large room. At least it's fairly quiet on the lowest and middle setting.

Edit to original review: it’s been several months at this point and I have two in our small farmhouse. They work amazing, best purchase we’ve made. So far: it’s perfect, surpassed all expectations, ALL. Backstory: we’re living in a house from the late 1800s, that has been dormant for about ten years until we moved in a couple years ago. We have five pets, four cats which are strictly indoor and use an automatic litter box (Popur S7 which does great for the smell, it can only do so much though) and one fat, lazy, stinky pitbull. The house is musky, it’s old, it had way too much mold in the detached basement when we moved in. And the pets? They stink bad too, this is coming from someone who is very particular about the house smelling good. The litter box is horrible, the dog is gross, the house is old. I went searching for an air purifier, I’ve been wanting the SHARK never change, but couldn’t break down and buy it for $300. Didn’t try it out, can’t say if it’s good or not. While I was looking at reviews, I found the shark had only 5,000 reviews on Amazon, and it was at 4.3 stars. Okay, that’s not too bad. But this Levoit one had over 100,000 reviews and 4.8 stars. That’s nuts in comparison. I done a lot of looking on Reddit and found that the shark wasn’t even mentioned in the majority of good quality reviews, so I disregarded it. This specific one happened to be in budget and also has amazing reviews. We received it last night and set it up this morning, yep this morning, in our cat’s litter box room which is also unfortunately our closet. That room is the worst room of the house in my opinion. It’s been running for about 6 hours and I already notice a huge impact. It’s easier to breath, the air doesn’t feel so heavy, and the litter box is nonexistent, even right after they use it. Hubby sprayed cologne on himself and not 20 seconds later I walked in and it was gone, already sucked away. I put a box fan on it to help circulation and have it on 3. I’m buying another. Maybe two more. If I remember I’ll come back and review again when it gets a little later in the month. We’re leaving for vacation next Monday, so I’m curious how it will hold up against the cats stagnant litter box, which usually stinks pretty bad when we get home after a week. TLDR; Amazing for pet odor, amazing for muskiness. Perfect and worth every penny.

I love the Levoit Air Purifier! It is very quiet all of the time, but if you use the night time sleep mode, you can just barely hear it at all. The fan has three speeds as well as the sleep mode. You can set the sleep mode for up to 8 hours, the best I remember. I do use sleep mode but not with the timer. You can turn off the display panel and I do that at night because I prefer a totally dark room. I run it all day on low and so far, a week out from getting it and setting it up, there are no signs of anything that needs to be cleaned from the outside as I've seen in other reviews. I don't have any pets, just nasty carpet. I call it nasty, because all carpet is nasty to me. I dislike carpet so much! I don't have a choice, though. I think the filter is supposed to last around six months, so we shall see. I bought a replacement filter when I bought the purifier and several filters for the humidifier, as well. It looks like I may have to change the Humidifier filter once a week as a week out, it is starting to turn brownish-yellow around the top of it. I don't smoke and do try to keep an extremely clean place, so not sure what the discoloration is. I'm the only one who has ever lived here. I use distilled water but also bought the demineralization kit and extra filters for the humidifier in case I run out of distilled water and have to use tap water. I clean the humidifier every day. It's not hard to do once you do it. I love the modern look and it is built very well. It's really not hard to use at all. I believe it is super effective combined with my also Levoit Humidifier. I have them on opposite sides of my small bedroom as I couldn't put my humidifier under the smoke alarm. My skin feels much softer and cleaner using the both of them. I could instantly tell a difference in how well I could breathe using the them. As before purchasing them, I couldn't breathe out of my nose at all. The humidity is brutal here. I have been able to get the humidity down to 58, which is something the local meteorologist said couldn't happen in these heatwave temperatures! Ha! I only use GENUINE LEVOIT filters and they're a bit more costly, but I prefer to use the real deal and have less problems/headaches. It can be a bit catchy to find them on Amazon and the generic ones keep popping up; however, I went straight to the Levoit store to get the genuine ones. Blessed to be able to somewhat better control my Asthma and all-season Allergies with the help of these two awesome products! Thank you, Amazon and Levoit! Bought this during fires in northern CA, & it makes a huge difference. I researched so many air purifiers before purchasing, and this is hands down the best affordable option available. It’s really easy to set up (takes 2 mins) and change the filters. It has 3 fan speeds, the highest being really high with a decent white noise sound (I like this) but lowest fan speed is almost silent. I can notice a difference in air quality in the room I have it in- I feel more awake and the air feels noticeably cleaner (if you walk in from another room, you can tell the difference immediately). This had the highest CADR of all other well-known brand options in the $100-$200 range (143 CFM CADR), which is the rate it cleans/replaces the air in a room per hour (this is 222’^2). I love this product so much and trust the brand.

Well, so far, I am THRILLED! I've not had this very long, but it seems to be helping. I have allergies & they sometimes make my eyes hurt. This year it has been every few days my eyes hurt so bad I can hardly keep them open. I've had to put a warm, moist wash cloth on them & sometimes use eye drops. Since using this my eyes still bother me some, but they are SO MUCH BETTER!!! They don't hurt nearly as much. I use it about 8 hours in my living room during the day then let it rest & then put it in the bedroom at night & run it 8 hours in there. Not sure yet if this is just coincidence yet or if the machine is truly helping but I strongly suspect it's the machine helping. And it's really quiet which helps a lot too.
