15" Magnetic Wooden Folding Chess Set for Adults with 2 Extra Queens

This is a very nice first chess board for kids or adults. We were shocked at the quality of the real wood the board is made of and it appears to be a regulation board as well. Even the staining appears to be done well. The games pieces (pawns, rooks, knights,bishops, Queens and Kings ) are hand carved as well and you simply can't beat the price point for the quality you are getting. We love that the game pieces are magnetic and the board is truly aesthetically appealing as well. Give your kids this fun and very educational game to increase their problem solving skills.

I bought this to play with my 7 year old grandson. It fits my needs perfectly. Considering the price point it gets the job done and does not break the bank. The pieces fit securely in the box which is good for storage. The magnetic feature works well. I would recommend this set for a good starter set.

This is an excellent chess set for any level of player. The pieces are of good quality and are magnetic as advertised. The board is also well-designed and with file and rank numbers and letters. For this price point, it definitely deserves a 5-star rating.

Very good. Pieces, although not perfectly simmetrical and with minor imperfections between white and black, are carved out of wood, look fairly well and give the feel of classical chess pieces. The board is made of wood itself but with some sort of plastic/picture with the squares and notation which is about what you can expect for the price range. Also, it's very portable and has a decent size (smaller than tournament but big enough for casual play).

Let me just list the good and the bad. The good: 1) Its a real wood board. Even though it is thin and light. 2) The magnetization is good. It works well for faster time controls like blitz, and may even work if you are traveling though this board is pretty big for that. 3) The coordinates are great for learning and teaching chess which is partly why I bought this board over others. 4) Extra queens is a must. The Bad: 1) I think the pieces are a little small. I will replace them someday. 2) It's annoying getting the pieces out of where they are held, however, just keep your board up all the time like I do and it won't be a problem! 3) My extra queen is scuffed up a bit (i.e. is discolored on top). Overall: For the price it is a great gift. I think a chess enthusiast on a budget or a beginner chess player would love this board.

My students love this chess set. The magnetic board resists misplacement due to bumps.

Magnets are not very strong. Otherwise it's ok

Purchased as gift. Box has arrived with sticky tape around the box (so can't open to look). Box has spelling mistakes, e.g. "enteryaining". Nervous about the quality on the inside.

It is NOT magnetic. Just a normal chess set. I spent lots of time to find this as it was saying magnetic.

This is absolutely NOT magnetic. Not sure if it’s just my set or all of them. Beware.
