Good product but whether it’s worth the price is debatable
It would be easy to question how a sweetener is produced from coconuts. Well, it isn’t. It’s made from the sap of coconut trees, a slow and laborious process. Hence the high price. It doesn’t taste in any way of coconut. Is it better for you than refined sugar? Possibly. There are no chemicals (or at least shouldn’t be), there may be some useful minerals, and some say it’s easier to digest. It’s free of sodium, unlike soft brown sugar which contains 2-3% sodium. It won’t save you any calories, however, or preserve your teeth. Sugar is sugar.I’m slightly puzzled by the “nutrition facts” on the pack. “Total sugars 7%, Includes 7% added sugars”. Does that mean they add sugar from elsewhere, in the process of producing this? I’ve no idea. The texture is a bit of a cross between demerara and dark soft brown sugar, I’d say, and so is the flavour. It’s lovely on things like porridge but wasted in baking because you really can’t taste any difference. Is it worth the price? To us, no, not really, except perhaps as an occasional treat to sprinkle on things. And, even at the high price, it doesn’t even come in a resealable bag!

Lovely flavour - great for baking or breakfast
I've used coconut sugar before - I find it has a really nice flavour perfect for using on breakfast or berries and for baking as well - a bit like brown sugar.Main selling point for me is it is low GI which is better for you if your diabetic or have a glucose intolerance.I cant comment on the value as there is no cost available but there is a range of coconut sugar options available on amazon plus it is popping up more and more in main stream supermarkets and wholesalers and you can pick up 500g for around £4 so would expect this to be price £2-2.50

Too expensive and it’s basically just sugar
I was worried that this might give a coconut flavour to drinks and baking that I use it in. It’s a similar flavour to Demerara sugar, with a subtle caramel flavour, so great in coffee and good for baking cookies and fruit cakes. The calories are pretty much the same as white sugar but apparently this is healthier as it’s not refined but it should still be used sparingly.I like alternatives to white sugar but it’s got to be reasonably priced and this is just too expensive for what is basically just sugar.Hope you found my review helpful

We Like It ...Except in Hot Drinkls
Been adding this Coconut Sugar to my morning porrige. It adds sweetness of course but also a slight coconut flavour, which I like. My wife has taken to sprinkling a little on her morning granola or cereal. Neither of us particularly like it in tea or coffee, but it has proved a success in several of our baking projects. At the end of the day its all down to personal taste of course. But for us its an excellent alternative to sugar and honey in pretty much everything apart from hot drinks.

Gorgeous flavour, love it in coffee and desserts.
I have tried a few fruit sugars, but this is the first time I have tried coconut sugar. It looks similar to a medium brown sugar, but it tastes much nicer. It is amazing in coffee and gorgeous on banana pancakes, it leaves a kind of caramel taste that lingers. It has the right balance of sweetness and flavour. It is more expensive than some unrefined sugars but as a treat in coffee of deserts its worth that extra cost as it has such a lovely flavour.

Enjoying using this in many recipes…
This is a good product. It’s a healthy alternative to traditional sugar products. I have used this in several recipes with considerable success. It’s a perfect alternative to brown sugar for example. It works so well in both cakes and puddings. Try this in a traditional bread pudding and it’s tasty. I’m happy to use this and it’s less calories too. Cost wise it’s good value.

Great for healthier baking
I am trying to cut down on my use of refined sugar, and it is really nice to experiment a bit with some healthier options. This coconut sugar is great in cookies and puddings. It is not the same pound for pound as refined sugar so you may have to adjust your quantities a bit. But it is healthier and the taste is great. Good product at a fair price.
