DL-64 Portable EVA Hard Drive Carrying Case Pouch, Blue

I was looking at several cases to protect my Seagate - FreeAgent GoFlex 1TB External USB 2.0/3.0 Portable Hard Drive(Model: STAA1000102 SKU: 1150965 USB 2.0/3.0 interface; plug-and-play design; upgradeable interface. After LOTS of reading and measuring I decided to try this one.My best hope is that it would be a good fit and be some protection for the portable hard drive. I must admit I am very impressed with this purchase. Most of the reviews/pics do not take the extra little "bump out" these have into their measurements and this is the main reason (COMPLETE) measurements are important.The item arrived and has a good "look" to it. Meaning it looks like a higher end item rather than a Wal-Mart clearance purchase. It has a pretty hard casing under a material surface. It also has nice padding with elastic strap to keep it from moving around. On the other side is what I call an air pouch - which is a mesh pouch on one side for storage. My hard drive fits and has just enough room on each end to keep the zipper from scratching the unit. It also has a rim which keeps your hard drive from making contact with the edge which further protects it.Over all for the money, I am VERY satisfied with product.

Overall this is a great hard drive case of top notch quality that I would not hesitate to buy again. Its one of those situations where you gotta feel it to believe it.The case is large enough to fit two of my WD passport external hard drives + two separate usb cables INSIDE the case, but still manages to be of decent compact size. One side has a very plush foam (almost like the NASA-invented memory foam) to blanket your hard drive with snuggable lusciousness. An elastic strap keeps your hard drive in place. The elastic strap was elastic enough to fit two drives, but still tight enough to hold a single drive as intended.It has two pouches for holding cables and the such, one open mesh inside and one soft fabric (neoprene) on the outside. The case itself has a semi-hard shell covered with in a nylon weave-pattern...feels real durable. The zipper "teeth" are of good size and zip up easily. And the color of the blue version is of this nice deep royal navy. If they had this exact setup in laptop-size, I would probably buy a laptop just to use it.

I ordered this case two days ago and it got here a day early. Thanks Amazon and UPS!The case feels of high quality material, but, as noted in other reviews, the zipper is a weak point. I would be worried about damaging it from pulling too hard. I find that if you slightly squeeze the case when you are trying to zip around a corner (where the zipper has the most trouble) then it has no problem zipping closed. This slight fault is the only reason I have given this product 4/5 stars.One of the final selling points for me on the case is that there is a layer of memory foam where your external hard drive sits, underneath an elastic band for securing your drive. I was looking at similar cases from Case Logic, but this was the deciding factor for me. After putting my hard drive under the elastic band and having it rest on the memory foam, the band and foam looks less stretchy than before, but I do have a tall and heavy drive  Western Digital My Passport Studio 1 TB FireWire 800 External Hard Drive WDBK8A0010BBK-NESN  (which I am extremely pleased with). The band and foam still retain their elasticity and cushion, but just looks slightly stretched from my particular drive (not actually affecting band/foam performance).The inside mesh pocket can hold both the USB and Firewire 800 cables that came with my drive. This is great because I wanted to be able to bring both with me when I travel. My hard drive is in an all metal casing, so I did not want the connecting ends from the cables to scratch it. I put the connector ends inside the mesh pocket (ends down) to protect the drive. I was slightly worried about them ripping the mesh, but one just needs to be careful when sliding them in. With my hard drive and both cables inside the case, there is no additional problem closing the zipper (see comment in paragraph one). The neoprene-like pocket on the outside of the case could easily hold one of the cables without it falling out, but I prefer to keep them both inside the case for added protection. This outside pocket would be great for a third cable (the WD Passport Studio 1TB has dual Firewire 800 ports for daisy chaining), perhaps memory cards, or any other small-ish items that you may not want to throw loose in your bag.As a small note, this case could easily accomodate a drive larger than the one I have. Check the dimensions to see what maximum size drive will fit in there. Just be aware that it would then be touching the edges of the case and therefore offer slightly less protection.On first impressions I am very pleased with this case. It is a little larger than I was expecting but this is not an issue for me. It appears as if the material is mildly water proof to spills, rain or even a small puddle. I am soon to be taking a long trip abroad in a wet climate, so hopefully this case lives up to my expectations. In any case, the low price is a great selling point.

The case works pretty well and fits an external hard drive well. It's soft inside to cushion the device with a relatively hard shell outside under the fabric. It has held up to use well. It could be designed a little better concerning two specific aspects.First, the outer shell could be made of steel instead of plastic, and it could have ribs pressed into it to reinforce its strength. If it were ribbed steel it would be able to resist crushing much better. However, I've had no problem with crushing. The case had served me very well and is strong enough to protect in the event of a drop.Second, the case could be designed to allow the external hard drive to be used while it is sitting inside the case. To do this, and prevent overheating the hard drive, the outer shell could have small ventilation holes drilled through all around. The case could also allow cross-flow of air through the ends.But those are just my thoughts, the case is designed well and gets the job done nicely.

El tamaño es más grande que los protectores para discos convencionales, el precio fue muy bueno, alrededor de 150 pesos, es un producto de importación que califica para envío gratis. Por dentro tiene esponja de memoria, lo cual añade protección extra a los discos duros en caso de una caída, es estético y útil. Excelente producto.

Lo compré junto con el disco duro de silicon power armor a80, y queda de maravilla, el material es de excelente calidad del lado donde vael disco duro viene muy acolchonado lo que te da tranquilidad, por la parte de afuera es rígido y de buen gusto, lo recomiendo para quiendesea proteger de manera adicional un disco duro, si bien ocupa algo de espacio extra en la mochila, en mi caso lo vale por la protecciónque le brinda a mi disco duro además que puedes guardar el cable largo que trae el disco duro y algun otro usb pues dentra trae una bolsita para ese fin.

Súper protegido, con un acolchonamiento tipo gel al interior. Yo lo uso con un Disco Duro Lacie Edición Porsche de 2T y esta súper bien. Es un poco más grande pero está bien sujetado.

Es muy grande para mi disco de laptop (tengo un ADATA HV620), hubiera preferido comprar un disco con una cubierta integrada resistente a golpes, aunque puede servir para discos de laptop ligramente más grandes, el espacio extra te puede servir para guardar memorias u otras cosas. Los materiales son buenos y tiene buena protección contra golpes.

El tamaño es más grande de lo esperado, en uno de los lados cabe un disco duro marca seagate y sobra espacio, del otro lado podrás guardar el cable para conectar el disco duro y algunas memorias usb, tiene mucho espacio. La protección es excelente.
