CONTEXT I am a calligrapher, so I needed to get some leather to make a sign for a photoshoot. Living in Hawaiʻi, my options are very limited and expensive, so I turned to Amazon and found this. PROS - BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL!!! Obviously, it's tough to tell with anything when you buy it online, but there is absolutely nothing to worry about with this. It is a gorgeous color. - Quality is 100. It's thick and durable and doesn't scratch easily. By that, I mean I have worked with other "craft" leather that if I accidentally run my nail over it, would scratch the surface (hope that makes sense). Not the case with this leather. - Easy to work with! It took a couple of passes with me Exacto blade, but I didn't mind the extra elbow grease. CONS - As I said, it took a little bit of extra elbow grease to cut through the leather with my top-notch Exacto blade, so I could see that as being a negative to some people. It bothered me at first, but when I changed my blade it wasn't really an issue. OVERALL I love this leather! In my opinion, it is worth every dollar. I used mine to make hanging straps for a sign, but also ended up making a little key chain holder. I plan on making a lanyard with it as well and know I will still have a lot left over for more projects. Highly recommend this product... don't even hesitate about buying it.

Positives: This leather is really tough and high quality. I used it to make handles for a chunky knit bag, and it was perfect. It's thick and strong, so making holes for stitching took some effort, maybe because my tools weren't the best. The leather scratches and ages nicely, which I really liked. Negatives: It's a bit expensive for the size, even though the quality is great. If you're working on a big project, buying in bulk might be more cost-effective, but for my needs, it worked well. Overall: It's a bit on the pricey side, but the quality is good. If you're looking for reliable leather for smaller projects, this is a good choice.

I used this piece which was a great size to make a few 2-3 inch pieces to cover over a strap on the boot for extra protection I bought it with aleenes leather glue and and sewing kit for leather cost me about 55$ and I made a wallet for fun and still got some left over to craft a holster for a leather man knife ! I played read dead 2 and bought a jacket in the game which was this color or very similar and I fell in love with it ! The leather is real and smells exactly like leather when I was threading I never used leather and it felt real because it is it’s some of the best quality I’ve seen with all these cheap rip off pieces this product well worth it !

I purchased the bourbon color. It is an absolutely beautiful buckskin type leather. I cut it on my glow forge to make a purse. It cut very well with multiple fast passes to decrease char. My only complaint is that this leather is unfinished and it mars quite easily. I suggest a leather finish before you start to work with it. Oily fingertip marks and scuffs show up very clearly.

I'm so satisfied, it's just perfect piece of leather, smooth and clean, silky, without any marks, just as described. So good! Natural color, neat back side. 30.5/60.5 cm, 1.5 mm thickness.

This leather is beautifully embossed. The dark brown color is nice. The coloring isn't consistent across the 12x24 inch piece, but I'm sure it will age very nicely. It is nearly 2mm thick from end to end. I will be using it for my first leatherworking project. Because I'm a rookie I'm not taking a star for the inconsistent color on a $30 piece. It isn't so bad I don't want to use it, and it is rather inexpensive compared to other options I've seen. It just seems important enough to share.

Not true sizing which will result in more work to compensate for the quarter inch lacking. Leather is very thick and a dark brown so at least that description is accurate. Hope we can make it work because it is an expensive little piece and am positively "assuming" it is durable due to its thickness.
