Very versatile coffee maker
Follow up to my original review. After 10 months this machine has exceeded my expectations. This may be the best coffee maker I have ever owned. I bought this machine July 12 for $140. I owned a 10 cup Mr Coffee machine that had similar functions and features (except the K-cup capability) that I was very happy with. It was about 10 years old when it started leaking water from the reservoir which prompted me to replace it. The only issue I had with the old machine was capacity. On those occasions when my wife and I wanted an additional cup of coffee it was inconvenient to brew another half-pot or full pot that often didn’t get fully used. This Keurig Duo seemed to be the perfect replacement. It features a 12 cup pot and has the K-cup feature for additional cups if needed. After reading several reviews on Amazon I identified 3 items that were a concern to me. 1. The permanent filter lets fines into the carafe. 2. The carafe doesn’t keep the coffee hot enough, long enough. 3. Longevity, a few reviews noted breakdowns after a few months. I have only owned this machine for about 2 weeks so I don’t have enough history to speak to the longevity issue. However, I can say that my first two concerns have been non-issues for me. The permanent filter DOES let fine coffee grounds through into the carafe. This problem is easily solved by using paper Bunn Coffee Filters BCF100 in place of the permanent filter. This works so well that in my opinion it renders the permanent filter a detractor rather than a benefit. The filter basket holder is easily removed and you can dump the filter and grounds out cleanly. Conversely the permanent filter has to be removed, cleaned and put back. In my estimation this is far more inconvenient. As far as temperature is concerned I find the Keurig carafe is probably less insulated than my old machine in that it seems to cool off faster. This is also not an issue for me. My perfect drinking temperature is somewhere around 145 degrees. The temperature of the coffee from the Keurig is 170 degrees right after brewing and is 168 at 30 minutes and 161 after 1 hour. The coffee pot is usually empty before the two hour mark in our home. So far the temperature has not been an issue for us. Other miscellaneous notes are: brew time for a full carafe is 9 minutes and 30 seconds; very reasonable. The auto delay brew function works well but is a little counterintuitive. I have to turn the machine on, push the auto button, and press the start button to “set” the delay function, then press the power button again OR it will brew a pot of coffee immediately. Counter space footprint is ideal for us. Registration of the product was slightly inconvenient because the Keurig registration system didn’t recognize the serial number at first. I tried again after a few days and it worked fine so not really a significant issue. Overall - after 2 weeks of ownership I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it highly. If it doesn’t last for at least 5 years at the current price point however, I would not buy it again. Time will tell.

Best coffee maker ever!
I love the versatility of this Keurig. I moved from the old drip machine style to capsules many years ago, and I still like them. But when the latest seven-year-old Keurig started to fail, this K-Duo became very attractive. Without having to maintain two machines, I can brew my single cup first thing in the morning, and later a carafe of the less-substantial coffee shop style my wife favors. (I like it that way, too.) A bonus: the per-cup cost of bulk coffee tends to be far less than even the least expensive capsule. After a short learning curve, I've found the K-Duo to be easy to use, reliable, and easy to clean. When I need a full carafe early in the day, the timer function is a snap to program, so hot coffee is instantly there to help the waking up process. A minor quibble: The thermal carafe could be more heat efficient. Coffee stays steaming hot only briefly, and after about two hours it's down to a very comfortable drinking temperature. Still, it's unbreakable--a considerable advantage over the old-style glass carafes that are often extremely hard to replace.

Perfect for Busy Families – Convenient, Reliable, and Time-Saving!
The Keurig K-Duo Plus has been an absolute lifesaver for our busy family! With hectic mornings, it’s great to have a coffee maker that takes the stress out of the early hours. The programmable auto-brew feature is a game-changer—we can set it up the night before, and by the time we wake up, our coffee is ready and waiting. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air as soon as we step into the kitchen, making it a welcoming start to the day. Since everyone in our house has different coffee preferences, the flexibility to brew both a single cup and a carafe is ideal. Some of us prefer just one cup of coffee, while others need a full pot to get through the morning, especially on busy days when we have early school runs or work schedules. The Keurig K-Duo Plus handles it all effortlessly without compromising. The carafe feature is perfect for when we have guests or need more coffee to fuel our busy day. Plus, it keeps the coffee hot for hours, so we don’t have to worry about reheating. The quick brew time means we’re not waiting around—everyone can grab their cup and get on with their day, whether it’s for breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up. It’s also incredibly easy to use, even on mornings when we’re half asleep. Plus, the easy-to-clean removable reservoir and drip tray make maintenance fast and hassle-free, so we spend less time cleaning and more time enjoying our coffee. For a busy family, the Keurig K-Duo Plus is a total time-saver. It’s convenient and reliable, and it makes getting a great cup of coffee easier than ever. I highly recommend it for anyone juggling multiple schedules or looking to simplify their coffee routine!

My favorite Keurig so far, but minor room for improvement
I live alone, so Keurigs have served me well, and of the several I've used, this one is my favorite so far. Although 95% of the time I prepare individual cups for myself, it's fantastic to have the option of making a full carafe when I have guests, and the thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot without cooking it as bottom burners do. It's a fantastic two-in-one device. PROS: small footprint, choice of three positions for water tank, carbon filter (optional), works well under standard 18" counter height, lighted programmable LCD display, lighted buttons, intuitive interface, looks nice, comes with gold reuseable basket for the carafe, and makes great coffee! Also, I use the reusable universal K-Cup filter and it works great in this model too. CONS, which I'll address individually: 1. Because of the carafe height, the dispenser for the single-serve is also pretty high above the tray and can lead to splatter. So I simply place a former ceramic candle holder under my coffee mug to position the mug closer to the dispenser when I prepare a single-serve cup. Problem solved. 2. Because the single-serve filter is positioned behind the large basket for the carafe, there is a little channel about 2" long that transports the single-serve brewed coffee toward the front and dispenses it just behind the carafe dispenser. Pretty ingenious design, though you'll need to remember to remove and clean this plastic channel piece regularly too or coffee oils could build up in it; fortunately, it's easy to remove and put back in. 3. The biggest room for improvement, imho, is that there is no way for the user to adjust the temperature of the water. Keurig should add this, for sure. In single-serve operation, the brewed coffee travels trickles down the internal channel mentioned above, instead of dropping directly into the cup. And I think this makes it lose a few degrees of temperature in the process. I usually have to nuke my coffee a few seconds because it's just not hot enough straight out of the Keurig. If I could increase the brew temp myself, the problem would be solved. But overall, I'm really happy with this model and would buy it again.

Excellent duo coffee brewer
When I called Keurig regarding a machine I had about 6 years+ ago, there were no replacement parts available. It was a big disappointment but what they did instead, was send a brand new machine which really shocked me. I was really surprised they made this offer just because my Keurig couldn't be fixed. What company does this these days? I've had that coffee maker which we use everyday, and it was wonderful. The features were simple and easy to follow, and based on the layout of my countertop, I could place the water receptacle on either side of my machine. Recently this coffee maker stopped working after we got hit with a storm that took out our power for over 24 hours. Unfortunately, it was still plugged in when the power came on and I think there was a surge that knocked the computer component out. I liked the machine so much, It didn't bother me to pay this time for another new one. I got the exact same model. We were thankful for Keurig offering that to us back then and feel it needed to be paid forward. Enjoy everything about the machine and since I'm a die-hard believer in Keurig based on their quality products, we bought this one. Thank you Keurig for giving customer care a great name. Thank you for your kindness and I'm hoping this review will help you even more! It's nice to support a company that supports its customers.

Stops working after only a month or twe
I purchased this item in late January 2024 and began using it mid February. Within a couple months it would occasionally only brew half a pot of coffee and then stop. The single cup brew was intermittent. By the end of June it would not brew a full pot. Every time we started to brew a pot of coffee it would stop halfway through the cycle. The single cup using a pod would not brew at all. I called Keurig and they had me do some troubleshooting steps to no avail. To their credit they did send me a new unit. But in the meantime I had to use our old drip maker. Within a month of getting the new unit it was doing the same thing. I called Keurig again and went through the same troubleshooting steps again to no avail. They sent me another unit and it again started doing the same thing in only a couple of weeks. Again I called Keurig and they wanted to send me another unit. I told them that after 3 units doing the same thing I just wanted my money back. They said they would send me an email with instructions on how to return the unit for a refund. When I received the email it gave me an address to send the unit to and said that the refund would be placed on my credit card after they got the unit back. I called them to verify that I would have to pay the shipping back and they said I would. I also asked them how they would put the money on the credit card when they don't have my cc info since I didn't make the original purchase through them. They said someone would call me to get that info after they received the unit back. The whole process sounded a little fishy to me so I hesitated to pay for the shipping if the refund wasn't going to go through. I called back and talked to another representative to get clarification and they told me that since I did not make the original purchase directly from them that they could not do a refund. Unfortunately taking all the time to try to resolve the issue with having them send replacement units I am outside the window to get a refund from Amazon. So now I am stuck with a $200 paper weight (and not a very attractive one at that). I will never buy another Keurig product again. I work too hard for my money to waste it on inferior products.

This is the best coffee maker ever!!
This coffee maker is sooo awesome! We loved our kerurig single cup maker that we had for 5 years that we never had a problem with and kept using because the coffee tasted good, but we found we were having so much waste from the single K cups and the cost of the better quality coffee was getting so high lately in price. Also my husband wanted to have a carafe pot to make larger portions to fill his Yeti thermos he takes to work instead of using 4 K cups to fill it, But every carafe combo I found was big and really tall and you would have to pull it out to use it and we didn’t want to have to keep doing that. This model is awesome! The best of both world! The coffee taste really great! The water tank has a large handle to hold it when removing and comes off the side easily and has a charcoal filter in it to filter the water as it brews, the pot is a large 12 cup pot that is insulated and very durable. It doesn’t have a heater plate under it which we like because when there is one the coffee always taste burnt after a while sitting on the heat. This carafe Kees the coffee hot for a few hours and warm for a long time after. The program to brew is super easy to use. The single cup is super easy and it lifts on the top and still fits under our cabinets!! All the rest we would have to pull out from under the cabinets to get the K cup in. It is sleek and very attractive in our kitchen. My husband just loves it and I’m so happy how it looks in our kitchen. Only suggestion I have is run a full pot with just water through first before brewing any coffee, we didn’t and it had a strong plastics taste to it, we dumped that pot and immediately made another and it was fine after that. We also ordered a package of filters to change once a month, as it only comes with one. The refills are not expensive and it’s only one a month. We also bought reusable K cups with paper insert filters for single serve, it has lowered our amount of waste and lowered our budget on coffee supplies. Buying fresh ground coffee is so much less expensive while tasting so much better than most of the K cup singles and way more eco friendly. I highly recommend this coffee maker.

Excellent product, Great Seller!
I received my duo via Amazon but when I ordered it didn’t specify that it was from Costco. They shipped quicker than expected, and included a bonus 1 lb ground coffee, 48 KCups and a spare coffee machine filter. So I was already impressed before even firing it up. Love the slim design and removable water canister that can be placed on the back or side. Love not having to fill the pot with water first then pour it into a coffee maker, usually ending up with water on the counter. The design allows me to make a pot of coffee and then use a KCup function or just straight water through the KCup function without having to remove the full pot coffee filter. They function through two different places. This important to note because if you want hot water for tea, it doesn’t run through the full pot coffee filter area and taste like coffee. The coffee comes through hot into an insulated pot instead of warm and heated on a burner resulting in a bitter cup of coffee. Note, there is no burner. This actually works well for us as having a water softener, as with our other coffee makers, on occasion after washing the pot and placing on the burner, the salted water has corroded other coffee pot burners. Anyway, the flavour of the coffee is superior to any other coffee maker I have had. Now, the one flaw; insulated pot doesn’t close completely so the coffee stays “warm” for two hours as advertised. Warm, not hot. Since my husband leaves for work before 5 am and coffee is timed for him, by the time I get a cup shortly after 6 am, it is warm, not hot. If I add cream, I have to reheat it in the microwave. This is a small point, not major but if you think it keeps the coffee hot for two hours you would be disappointed. The coffee is good enough to drink black though so without cream, it’s usually warm enough for the first much needed cup.
