AlternativeWomen's Maniac Sport Sweatshirt

I really like this top a lot, but the fabric is not of good quality so after the first wash it got mildly pilly. It didn't get worse and worse with subsequent washes but it does look like poor quality because of the mild pilling. I like the fit a lot - I am 5'4" approx 120 pounds, small boned, small chest and the small size fits me well. The sleeves and body are fitted but not at all tight . I really like the scoop neck too although it is not finished and was simply cut (i.e. they didn't fold back the edges and sew it for a finished look. I like the colors too - I got the sort of greenish aqua and the grey with black and white striped sleeves. I like that the fabric is neither heavy nor too light but the fact that it looked somewhat pilly after the first wash is has prevented me from buying more. If not for the fabric problem, this seriously would be one of my favorite tops. I do wear them out as they fit great, feel great, and have the very practical pocket without a bulky hood, but if I was going anywhere that I cared about what people might think of me, I would be hesitant to wear it because of the fabric makes it look cheap if seen from close up. I wish the manufacturer would use a better fabric that would not pill at all and this would be a fantastic top. Another feature I REALLY LOVE is that it has the convenient front pocket of a real sweatshirt but does not have a hood. I have found it very difficult to find a pullover sweatshirt with a pocket that doesn't have a hood.

Super soft and comfy sweatshirt. The body of the sweatshirt fits as a large should and runs true to the posted measurements by the manufacturer. But the neckline! takes me back to the '80's and Flashdance. When I first got the top I tried it on without snipping the twill cord holding the two shoulders together (one assumes in order to be able to hang the garment). It fit well, so I went ahead and snipped off the tags and washed the item. THEN I snipped the twill tape and lo and behold, the neckline no longer stays on my shoulders but wants to slip off constantly. My bra straps show but the neckline is too low to look good over a regular shirt. If I size down on the body it will not fit loose and comfy and there is still no guarantee that the neckline will work better; if I cut the tape to test the neckline, I can't return the shirt! Too bad the neckline isn't just a tiny bit smaller, it really is a very cute and comfy top otherwise.

This sweatshirt is one of my favorite items to wear...it's super cozy and stylish. My only complaint: the fabric pills quickly. After one wash, there were already little beads forming all over the shirt, even though I used a delicate cycle. Washing inside out seems to help prevent these from multiplying...I would still buy it again even with the issue! It really is adorable.

Pro: Super soft and cozy. Flattering cut for my body shape (straight). Color looks very nice and goes with all my bottoms.Con: The neckline is wider than expected and is off-the-shoulder on me, unlike in most of the product photos. (Basically, the fit is like in the product photo for the light pink version.) I own several other items from Alternative Apparel in M, and haven't had issues with the neckline before, so I assume either the models in most photos have broad shoulders for their size, or there is some quality control issue.

I LOVE THIS SHIRT!! The stylish armbands and cool neckline appealed to me and the price was low so I bought it. What a surprise when the shirt turned out to be VERY COMFORTABLE! Score! The material on the inside is so soft and the shirt extends low enough to pair with leggings or skinny jeans which pleases me. It's a casual yet stylish look.The neckline is a little wide for my tastes though (you will need to be vigilant to keep your bra straps hidden). Other than that, I highly recommend this piece for the price and especially the comfort/style. I will be wearing this regularly!

I usually get my sweatshirts in xxl so there is room for comfort, but this color was only availabe in the xl so I purchased it. It is snug but I think I will still be able to get a thin tank top under it for more warmth if needed. I love the old school look.

These sizes are definitely more on the Juniors side...where I could normally wear a L/XL comfortably in a, "slouchy" sweatshirt...this one fits like a M/L...but it's cute. A criticism about the quality is the flimsy pocket in front...it's pretty much just there for decoration. If you put your hands in it one too many times, the stitching will come right out.

User purchase error - didn't realize the neck line was cut away to give an unfinished shirt. Very soft and cozy but designated to lounge wear or going to/from yoga studio if you happen to be older than 30.
