will this work on a5 books?

Yes, the bed of the press will fit A4 easily.

I have a5 booklets with a staple, made of 6 pages 115gsm and want to press down on the paper to get a better crease on the fold? will this work?

It does work for this but you have to stack the booklets in a certain way so the stapled creases get maximum pressure (I'll add a review showing what I mean).

I wonder if this machine would press comics ?

It presses paper so I cant see why it shouldn't press comics
