You have a spot in the future of work if you want one.
I just finished Craig's book. I have to say that it painted a rather bleak picture at first about the future of work. At the same time it also provides a roadmap for you to make sure you have a future and not a casualty of automation. I think the best thing I liked about the book was hearing that so many companies realize there is alot of anxiety out there in people worried about losing their jobs. Almost every transition resulted in jobs we could not even foresee as of yet. Companies are beginning to realize even if we automate our people is what makes our company strong so some have even committed to their employees we will you new work if your job automates. We live in a world of constant change. Never stop learning. Always be open to learning new things to keep you valuable. There is a spot for you in the future of work but you should buy this book so you know where you stand overall in the grand scheme of things. Craig masterfully layed all this out for us. He is a world renowned expert on this topic and he certainly is giving us a fair warning wake up call. Overall great book.

A wake-up call on the "future of work"
This is a well-written, easily digestible book from one of the tech industry's best-regarded analysts. It provides a fact-packed review of how new automation technologies, including software robots and artificial intelligence, are changing the economy and workplace. Grounded in the real-world and supported by good annotations for those who want to dig deeper, the book draws on the research of the author and his colleagues at Forrester Research. Striking too are the straight-talking interviews with members of the current workforce in multiple industries - bringing a tone of "what it means to me" reality that's refreshing and insightful. Underpinning the book is a good conceptual model that can help anyone interested in thinking through the "future of work" and what they need to do about it - whether as a worker or leader/manager.

Must read for senior executives
A lot has been written about robots taking over our lives and jobs in the not so distant future. But this book breaks down the specific job categories and how each will be impacted by automation. This is key for executives who need to plan for how the changes will affect their company and their employees and map out what they’ll need to do to face the enormous challenges they’ll face. The author then adds a human touch by interviewing workers in different geographies and jobs who then relate how they’re already feeling the changes and their outlook for the future. Really makes you think about the societal and moral implications of implementing AI and automation.

Specific enough to be useful without being prescriptive
Anyone who works with established companies on the journey towards being more digital would find useful ideas in this book. This is not just for VP/C-Levels, anyone who leads from the middle will see examples of how to help leadership shape strategy.

This little book is very helpful to anyone trying to understand the ever developing world of automation and its impact on future of work. Its well written and entertaining but also includes the type of in-depth thinking and analysis you would expect from a veteran Forrester analyst. It is our responsibility to take the right decisions today.
Craig Le Clair has managed a rare feat: writing a book on automation and artificial intelligence that is both comprehensive and approachable. His use of anecdotes and stories of these technologies’ impact on everyday workers is a sobering reminder that it is up to us, the ‘digital elites’, to ensure that no one is left behind. This book is highly recommended to all legislators, business leaders and anyone interested in adapting what they do, when they realise that the future-of-work is already under way.
