Reduced Noise Significantly!
I used these to soundproof my bedroom windows because I wasn't prepared for the near constant sounds of city living, and it cut down the noise of traffic and trains significantly. I only filled in my windows, so I can still hear some faint noise, but it's no longer unbearable. No more large trucks or train whistles waking me up throughout the night! Yay! Unforseen side affect is having trouble waking up from such a deep sleep and blacked out room, but I'd rather live with that than have one more restless night. The self-adhesive backing bonded well to the cardboard base I used to fill the windows, rather than stick them directly to the windows. This all fits nicely behind blinds, so its out of sight. I bought more to place between my TV's speakers and the entertainment center to reduce the echo in my tall-ceiling/open concept home, and quality of sound is improved! Definitely a good, thick material, great quality for the price, versatile use around the house, and the large size covers more area with less effort. Will purchase more for noisy A/C closet because it is listed as formaldehyde free, big plus! Highly recommend this product for its excellent performance!

Great!
These actually work pretty well! we have a vent connected to the living room that isn’t connected to the ac or anything and it let so much noise pour in but this has helped a lot! it obviously doesn’t stop every noise but it has stopped smaller noises and muffled a lot! it sticks very well to the vent. I didn’t cut it because i didn’t want to but the material is very soft i imagine it wouldn’t be hard. Just sticks to whatever you want it to and you’re done!

For sump pump noise
It helps muffle noise from the sump pump in spare bedroom. Easy to cut with scissors to fit. We put a couple layers over the pit lid, also boxed in the discharge pipe. Not perfect but definitely better!

Aggressively sticky adhesive!
Bought these to use in a portable tool case to pad the lid to keep stuff in place, works great, really soft but plenty of support and durable. The adhesive is AGGRESSIVE on these, the only real complaint is getting the plastic peeled off the back to expose the adhesive is a bit of a problem because its hard to get the edge started to peel it back, the adhesive is really strong and you will end up pulling away foam at the corner before you can get the backing plastic to come off, took a few tries but finally managed to get it. Once stuck down on a clean surface you will be tearing the foam before you can get it to come off, it really sticks. Some reviews reported a smell?? I don't smell anything, but then I'm not a sensitive snowflake to odors, if anything it smells like any new packing foam or piece of plastic electronics that you opened for the first time, after about ten minutes in free air i really couldn't smell anything from them. If they added a tab to the backing plastic to make it easier to peel off, i ended up using a piece of tape to stick to the plastic to then lift it from the adhesive, it would be easier to install. Cutting it to shape was simple with a knife and scissors. Overall very happy with it. Will see how it holds up with time but compared to the cost of other specialty foam inserts this was a cheap way to pad out a tool case.

Worked great.

They make a MESS
They aren’t all cut the same size and they aren’t very ridged, so I’m guessing the noise suppression is reduced due to them being somewhat flattened. I would return them if I could, but they literally fall apart if you try to remove them, they leave a sticky, black mess behind on your wall/surface that I can’t get off. Definitely wouldn’t not use again.

looking for a better adhesive to mount these panels. Got suggestions?
Looking for an adhesive solution. Has anyone found a better adhesive? i bought 24 panels to adhere to a backing panel. We need a "window plug" to help dampen some noises coming through my double pane windows. Noise comes in from front entrance of my building and the parking lot. Workers, trucks and construction happen daily. We just tried mounting the panels onto thin, cabinet grade plywood. The panels do not stay in place. The adhesive isn't sticky enough. Barely sticks to anything. The panels look like they will do a good job of dampening some noise from outside if we can just get them to adhere. TY

Works like a charm
I bought these to cover up the vents above my door in my apartment due to excessive noise coming through them from the other room (I should note these vents do not serve any purpose and are not connected to the A/C vents). I have been using them for a few months and not only are they durable and thick but they also do a great job of blocking the noise. I also really like how the backs are sticky. They have been stuck to the vents for months now and haven’t had any issues. I feel as though they are a great value for the money and would recommend.

My room have a sliding door in my new apartment, and there was a huge gap which basically let through any sound coming from the kitchen. I bought this product and was skeptical that it could change anything, but oh my did it work! It now block sounds like if I had a real, sealed door. Cutting it was messy and it is by no means a clean finish, but it functions very well (I'll paint it white eventually).

Foam breaks apart, not a solid product at all. Would advise staying away

This is not a product to "soundproof" a room. If you buy this with that purpose in mind, you will not achieve the results you are after. This is also not an ideal product to properly treat a room as it is not as absorptive in the lows and subs as one would really need to deal with standing waves and such. All that said, I purchased to put up in my drum recording room as it is a concrete basement and therefore very reflective. Worked well for my intended purpose which was to absorb some of the high/mid frequency reflections from my drums and cymbals.
