Review: Great Product! - A simple concept coupled with easy installation. This product solves a problem that has existed for many years with flimsy and leaky vents on RVs. This will allow you to travel with your vent open and obviously will protect the inside of your RV from rain when you have the vent open allowing your RV to vent better. Overall, I highly recommend purchasing these vents. One thing to consider is to purchase the smoke or white colored vents as the black vents will make you lose the natural light you get from the factory RV flip open vents. Some folks may like that, but I do miss the natural light. Especially in the bathroom as our RV has no windows. Again, I highly recommend this product!
Review: Easy installation - Fit well

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this fit the Dometic 1400 series vent fan?**
A: Yes it will fit. The dometic 1400 is a standard size .

**Q: Can I leave the vent open while driving after this product is installed?**
A: yes, vent can be left open

**Q: Do you void the manufacturer warranty by drilling screw holes to install this?**
A: I wouldn’t think so ,but I don’t know for sure. You have to drill 4 small holes in the mounting flange and none into the actual vent cover.

**Q: Am i correct in saying that there is height adjustment on the maxxair cover to accommodate a fan-tastic vent fan with auto fan cover?**
A: No height adjustment as far as a know. Just make sure you get the Maxair for the fantaxtic vent fan. I have a large vent fan on my Carbon 349 and the Maxair cover works perfectly! Just make sure it is for the large fan type. The standard vent cover from Maxair will not fit a the larger covers with fans.

Fit well

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Black works great in sleeping area.
*by C***N on November 16, 2025*

This was for a trailer I no longer have it was really good. I got the black even though the vent was in the bathroom and really made it dark. It matched everything on the roof. But the black is really good in the sleeping area.
