The Belem Photograph

The first thing to get straight is that this is not the sinking of the Belem. It is a spectacular photograph by Philip Plisson. I have been unable to find the year and location it was taken or how Mr Plisson gained such a great vantage point to take this awesome photo. The Belem is a 3 masted, 165' barque built in 1895-6 and is currently harbored at Nantes, France and fully capable of sailing the world.
