How far does it protrude from wall? What clearance would be needed to use behind door?

The towel holder may prevent the door from fully opening against the wall. It sticks out about 3 inches.

What is the total length of the 24" towel bar? I need the entire length, not just the bar part.

The entire bar measures 25". Hope that helps. It is a beautiful towel bar.

What is the diameter of the towel bar?

I'd say about half inch or less...equate it to a roll of dimes
