Great book and explains alot

Well organized and helpful
About the book - I appreciated that it was written in a friendly style easy to understand. She explained the underlying science and references to back up the claims without being too technical or overwhelming. And although she was personal and personable, this book was not filled with all kinds of “testimonials” from patients. (This is a trend among this type of book that I have found really annoying and off-putting.).About the program - Until I tried this Cleanse I’ve never been able to substitute a smoothie or shake for a meal and feel good. The recipes here left me feeling satisfied and strong for hours, which is amazing to me! And despite the 5 days being packed with a full time job, care for an elderly relative, and a family funeral I had no trouble preparing my food and no temptation to eat off plan. In the five days on the plan I lost 1# of fat (2# overall) and half an inch from my waist. This was without exercise or even daily walks. As a 60 yo menopausal woman with hypothyroidism, this was a real breakthrough for me.After reading through some other reviews I want to clarify that although every shake and smoothie recipe does list a choice of using one of her own brands of bone broth or collagen powder, she also lists the exact amounts of collagen powder to use if you choose a different brand. I went through the entire five days and didn’t use any of the products she sells. People who said you have to buy her products or that the book was just hype to sell stuff must not have really read or paid attention to what she wrote. The shopping list is mostly produce with no exotic ingredients.And finally, although this was a “5 day program” she was also very clear as to the importance of lifestyle changes and making a habit of choosing foods good for the body. This is not a “crash diet” but presented as a very satisfying gateway to lifelong improvement, and I found that to be true. I’m sure it won’t work for everyone, but the program deserves respect.

Great cleanse, book a bit lacking.
I recently bought this book after seeing Dr. Kellyann on a PBS fundraiser. It was another lonely covid Saturday night and I was feeling chunky. I'm not a person who thinks a cleanse is going to suddenly solve weight loss struggles, but I had started napping daily, and having a glass or two (mostly two) of wine nightly. I thought the idea of a reset was appealing. When I was younger I was good at following crazy diets with fidelity, now that I'm middle aged, not so much, but it was worth a try.I got the book and geared up for a Sunday start. Dr. Kellyann suggests a water and bone broth fast the day before you start. I figured I would give it a try and if it was too miserable, I would just give up the fasting day. It turned out, it was fine. You can do anything for one day. The next day I started with the smoothies, which were very delicious and very satisfying. Same with the soups. The five days flew by, I was NEVER hungry, and I was down five pounds, you know, the stubborn five at the end. It's a cleanse, not a fast. I cut back on workouts during that week, because I thought it might be too draining. That was three weeks ago, and I'm down another pound. Also, I stopped napping, and cut the wine habit. Super great experience. I will be doing this again, maybe in a month or two.The book has a few mistakes, at least I think they are mistakes. For example, the roasted veggie soup recipe does not indicate that it should be pureed, but I went on Dr. Kellyann's website and asked them. Which reminds me, when you buy the book, you get access to some online resources on her site. Very helpful. Here's another tip, DON'T download her shopping list and just buy that stuff. I did that, and I bought things that simply didn't appear in any of the recipes. (Hello? Arrowroot? I'm counting that as a mistake.) The book is a quick read, and you can be on your way very quickly.

Not a dieter or cleanser and this was successful!
I am over 50 and was gaining extra pounds, feeling sluggish and started to have digestion issues so I decided to try this as a reset for myself. I don't diet, I have never done a cleanse and consider myself a foodie so this was a big deal. Her book is very informative (and a bit overwhelming)- I just focused on the chapters I needed to and will read the rest in intervals to maintain the cleanse's effects. I went with her recipes and collagen protein because I wanted it to be a no brainer. I am pretty picky so I ended up doing just a couple of the smoothie/shake/broth recipes because I didn't really love most of them. As someone who eats well and enjoys sizable meals this cleanse was a challenge everyday because of my persistent hunger. Most reviewers say they felt full and fulfilled with each smoothie/shake/broth but I didn't - I was really hungry an hour after each one and looked at the clock continually until it was time for my next meal. I managed to push through and reaped the benefits- weight loss, good mood and feel like my body reset so that I can continue with smaller meals and some better food choices to lose/keep the weight off.

Interesting cleanse
If you feel you need a push in the right direction for your health, with the bonus of losing weight in an easy & healthy way this book is packed with fantsik info. I've finished my 5 days and am down 6 lbs & 3 inches off the waist. J.M.

Feel energized and lose weight/bloat - just as advertised!
If you find making homemade smoothies a chore, try the kit from Dr Kellyann ‘s website. It’s very easy and literally you just add water, like their ad says.
