Luminara Flameless Candle: Vanilla Scented Moving Flame Candle with Timer (7" Ivory)

I bought two of these beauties to go into two large lanterns that sit on our back porch. I have them on the timer so every night they come on automatically at 7:00 and they turn off automatically at midnight. These are the absolute most REAL looking candles that you can purchase currently. Pottery Barn has similar faux candles, but these are even better than what Pottery Barn carries in their store. The price on these Luminara candles is awesome too! At night they look 100% real! They look 100% real during the day as well, BUT of course the faux flame must be turned in such a way that you are not visually focused on the flame during the day...otherwise, if you are standing close enough (within a few feet) and looking directly at the faux flame during the day, you would be able to tell that it was fake. I haven't purchased the remote just yet...and I'm honestly not sure if I'll need it, the timer feature is awesome! If you are looking for faux candles, these are the MOST REAL looking that you can find! I am extremely picky...and other faux candles would not satisfy me enough to stay in our home...believe me, I've looked, I've purchased, and I've returned. Buy these candles! ~Manuel's wife

This is not a cheap flameless candle but if you want one to last and last, and look fabulous, it's worth paying for. This vendor offers it for a great price, prob. $10 less than another here in Amazon. Look for this brand and choose carefully, and you'll be so pleased.

The Luminara candle is the most realistic 'flame' I have found in a battery operated candle. From a short distance, it looks quite real. I can't say that I noticed the vanilla scent but that is not why I bought it. I love the remote and really love the timer. Turn on the timer and it stays on for 5 hours. It turns on every evening at the same time. Love it! This is a lovely accessory without the worry of flame. Service and delivery was excellent. The only reason I gave this candle 4 stars for value for the money is because it isn't cheap. Still you are getting a candle that will function well for years.

Totally addicted to these! Have two young kids but love candles so these are great and SO realistic looking. I had seen them at a friends house and thought, wow, she was quick to light candles up so high?! But nope, they were these. Love the timer setting so they come on each night at some time and off 5 hours later. Many have mentioned the vanilla scent which they do have, but honestly I don't even smell them. We have them on our mantle and then on a ledge in the loft of the house. I personally wouldn't mind a stronger smell even. But really I don't notice at all. Each take 2 D batteries. Haven't tried the rechargeable, just using regular and they last over a month being lit every night! Love the feeling of no worries I'm going to burn down the house or my kids are going to mess with them. Wish they made a few more colors or decor for Christmas

I wanted to dress up some 2nd floor columns with wall sconces that would have candles inside, and thought it would be neat to have them illuminate at night. The location would make real candles nearly impossible to light, so these candles fit the bill when used with the remote accessory. The candles are real vanilla-scented (not overpowering by any means) candles with electronics and a battery compartment inside. The flame is extremely realistic when viewed from most angles. When turned off, the flame is of course still visible but not illuminated, making them not so realistic when not in use, but in my case that really didn't matter because they are mounted high up on a wall inside tinted glass sconces. I provided images to give you an idea of the illumination you can expect, as well as to show you how well the remote works. The illumination is very realistic, and the remote works from downstairs. I simply point the remote at each candle and press the button. Voila! Instant ambiance! The remote must have a narrow transmission field, because I can't get both of them to turn on with one keypress if I point the remote between them, but I'm just happy it works at all from about 20ft away at an upward angle. These aren't inexpensive, but I've seen them go for twice as much in specialty stores, so I'm very happy with these purchases from Amazon (two candles and a remote).

Love the candle but the remote does not work the best. The candles are set near my TV so ever time I turn my TV volume down the candles go off and if I turn the volume up they turn back on. As I said the candles are great very real looking if you order the remote don't have your candles near a TV.

I LOVE THESE! Great for gifts too. I’ve order a couple of these and I love that they all come in at night with the timer. It give a great atmosphere and no one suspects they aren’t real flames. When I’ve commented on it to friends they actually went over to it to see for themselves. They were all surprised that it was battery operated. They also have a soft vanilla scent. I’m usually not a fan of vanilla scented candles, but this is super mild and nice.

I purchased Luminara pillar candle a couple of months ago. The candle has a wax feel on the outside and a vanilla smell. If you've never seen a Luminara candle, they are really quite lovely. The candle uses uses an LED with a warm white color. A flame-shaped plastic bit pivots and rocks back and forth with the LED shining on it. The effect from just a few feet away is very candle-like. The candle itself is at room temperature even after running for hours. I'll be buying another one or two next year as I'd like the house covered with them. Definitely invest in a set of rechargeable D batteries and a AA/AAA/C/D battery charger. I used rechargeable D cells and a battery charger from Tenergy. Each freshly charged pair runs the candle (in 4 hour timer mode) for 2 months.

Love it So real looking and great vanilla scent
