Review: Should of checked sooner - Truck has been down for almost 1 years because I had just put a crankshaft position sensor on it 2 months prior to it going down so I didn't think that was problem and ive put everything from a new computer to a distributor and a coil and plugs and wires to find out the crankshaft position sensor i originally put on went bad and this one only cost me $8. Spent hundreds to find ouylt i had a defective $8 part. Glad its fixed.

**Q: Does this sensor need to be re learnrd by tge pcm ?**
A: This is dependant on the year of your vehicle.. if its 98 or later you won't use a scan tool. If 99 or earlier you can use a capatible scan tool to help you like ( areoforce) , efi live or hp tuners. And if your replacing it yourself then the dealership kind of defeats the purpose of diy. Any shop with a tech II can do it also. It should be more than $75 or less. It only takes about 3 mins to complete the procedure if done correctly. Older vehicles require you to get it up to 158 deg. Drive to 55mph for 10mins then to 45mph and done without touching the brake. Sorry so long I just don't know the vehicle your working with. Thanks.

A: Mine didn’t come with a shim, but it was the same stack height of my original, measure your factory against your, you may not need one either..
