That's pretty much all there is to it
I got mine today. I opened it up, with the plant in ball shape in a ziplock, and instructions. I made a makeshift rock garden in a 4 inch deep dish from rocks in my back yard (I'm in Arizona), flattened them out then poured water in to cover the rocks by a bit. I then laid the bottom of the plant ball into the water on the rocks made positioned it so it'd stay upright. That's pretty much all there is to it. The plant absorbs water into it and expands, opening up slowly. I monitored mine for about 3 hours while doing other things, and it was opening up nicely about then. It doesn't pop open like a jack-in-the-box, it's a 12-24 hour deal to open up with a week or two of absorbing water and getting itself straight before it unfurls completely.I was worried this plant would be one of those dead resurrection plants that people sell, but this one is far from it. I'm happy about that, and I just ordered 2 more - 1 for work and 1 for living room. This one stays in the kitchen area.EDIT:I bought two more about a week after I bought the first. The second two were bigger, each of them had different growing characteristics. They are all good quality, I'm happy I bought them. In the picture I've attached, the one on the far left is the original one I purchased and has been in water for about half a week or so. The other two were freshly put into water about 10 minutes before this picture was taken. I wasn't super delicate with the new ones, I ran them under a light stream of water in the sink to get them nice and wet.

Did not do what it was supposed to.
I was left very disappointed with this purchase because the Jericho flower did not open in the water completely, I had it in the water for about 5 days and it was only half open and did not look appealing to me so with a broken heart I had to take it and put it in the trash and I don't think I will purchase again.

Way better than I expected for all the more I paid!
It's 11 inches in diameter and is technically could be seperated into one large plant and a small one. I left it submerged in natural well water (in the bag it came in) for 5 min. After that it sat in a deep metal bowl for 40 min half submerged. Then i filled a pyrex pie dish 1/3 with bonsai soil and half with water and placed plant deep in soil and kept misting with led grow light on lowest setting. Almost 11 hours later all the brown ends are finally hydrating and turning green. Smells strongly of mud (as it should) and looks great. Be patient! It's well worth it cuz the plant is massive compared to what you will find in a garden center as a novelty gift and this one is half the price.

Good transaction, but this novelty plant gets boring after a while
I'm rating this on the actual transaction with the seller which was satisfactory, although the plant I got wasn't the lush green that some online pictures show. I've read that you can only get those plants directly from greenhouses that grow them.I'd rate the general species of plant at about a 1. Why? Because they're dull. The plants are tiny and really have no outstanding qualities other than opening when wet and closing into a ball when dry. I've allowed it to do that for several seasons now and I'm just bored with it now. They are just little green plants. They don't flower as the name suggests. What looks like flowers are actually the whitish underside of the tips of the fronds as the unfrill. Once the amazement of the opening has completed, all that remains is just a little green plant. It's not even truly the plant associated with Mary & Christ. That's a completely different plant called Anastatica hierochuntica. What is usually sold here in the States is this plant, the Selaginella lepidophylla, which grows in North and South America. This plant may be good to amaze young children, but as an adult and plant enthusiast, this novelty plant rates very low on my list.

I can finally forget to water a plant.
The Jericho flower is such an amazing planti am not the type of person that can actually keep a plant alive but with this flower i was able to forget to water this plant and it would still be alive.I got this product in a paper bag with clear plastic wrap around it. the packaging was not at all pretty, the actual plant did still had dirt all around it, i did had to rinse it off a few times so it could look better but the actual plant was amazing.this plant can dry up and be place back in water and grow againWhen the Jericho flower is fully bloomed there is a nature aroma a lot similar to patchouli so if you are not a big fan of a strong earthy smell i would not recommend this plant. due to being a strong sent when its fully bloomed.this Jericho flower is NOT in pieces just like in the picture but its like a ball.I would recommend this product if you want to have a plant but not have a green thumb and if you like a earthy smell in the room you should buy this Jericho flower

Lovin' this showy little guy.
I am falling in love with resurrection plants! This little gem opens up in a way that reminds me of a peacock tail. There are definitely different varieties and they're all fascinating. Having read other reviews on these plants, all I can say to the nay sayers and overly ambitious "gardeners" is, "Please do the research." These little guys are a completely different plant from others. The "blooms" on the Azure Green are the little brown curls at the top of the fronds. These plants do not flower like other plants. Also, they have no roots and do not want to be in dirt. They are free spirits in the wild...blowing around with the wind. All they need is gravel (or stones) and some water. Also, please note, they want to "die" from summer through fall. Don't water them then. "Resurrect" them in fall and give them water through spring. Only add water when they start to curl up. 99% of the negative reviews I read were obviously written by people who had no idea what a resurrection plant is. They are special and different.
