Electric Motors and Drives: Fundamentals, Types and Applications

Got this book to learn newer information about motors and controls. 100 pages into it and it has been great. Really builds on his concepts in an effective way. So because it is so informative I give it 5 stars. But..... The print and page lay out is like someone wrote this on their word processor and printed it at home. Tiny print and huge margins. I like the book so much I’ll overlook that but it is a shame to waste such great material on such poor printing. Unfortunately this book will not last past my study of it. It will be in shambles. Too bad because they authors know their stuff and present it well.

Slightly technical engineering level concepts but well worth the money

The font is extremely small, after 20 minutos its so hard to read, i should have read the reviews before purchasing it.

For engineers that need a high-level overview of electric motors prior to diving into specialist text, this textbook is very well written and organized.

This is by far the best book I have ever read on the technology of electric motors. Just enough mathematics to help explain the phenomena governing performance but not so much that it gets in the way of understanding. I buy this book and give it to all my employees. Clear prose, good illustrations. If I would rate it 6 stars I would.

The book is really well written with some engineering humor to make the theory more palatable. Very god textbook written by people with the knowledge of the subject. Recommended for electrical and control engineers alike.

I received the book, I was very happy. But upon open the book to read. It is unreadable. The font type is rediculous small (like font size 8) while there are so plenty blank margins on the sides. The book is unreadable. Even the book content is good, but it is unreadable. It is useless. The publisher Newnes needs to fix this problem. Retuned the book.

I do some teaching as part of my field service work. I have used this book as a guide and in some cases given a copy to each student. I think this book is perfect for my needs as it covers the subject matter.

I'm stepping in to electronics and robotics. I needed a reference book that boosted my knowledge of the different types of motors and their operations. This is it - very detailed and needs to be concentrated on but it has found a permanent place on my bookshelf

Good English, simple and intelligible explanations.

A good introduction to motors and drives. Very light on the maths. Good review questions at the end of each chapter. An appendix pulling together all the equations would be useful.

A great book, a good beginning that is getting more advanced.
