Yet they felt soft and wasn’t too thin. Plus they are machine washable. The size of each is generous. I’ll test it for a few more washes before I buy more. These will replace my paper towels.i used it to wipe when eating. I am using them to wrap around fresh produce to keep it fresh for longer periods of time in my refrigerator. I slightly dampen the organic cotton towels with water, then wrap my celery, green onions, and certain other vegetables. My produce is lasting much longer and staying fresher than if I store them in plastic bags...no more slimy produce to toss out! I am very excited about how useful they are to me in this way. I am also considering using them to dry my hands in the kitchen. They are wonderfully absorbent!
