Great product description is great and product is very efficient

Update: replacement was perfect! Edited for 5/5 review 3/5Had one for many years that worked amazing but it finally broke. Replaced with the same brand and couldn't wait for it to arrive. It came pale yellow in color and would not change color with boiling. Fustrsting to return and replace to send back when it arrived broken. Hoping the replacement lives up to the original eggy timer I used for years.

Works just like it should perfectly boiled eggs as long as you follow the instructions

Pro: Cute, easy to use, makes hard boiling eggs just a little more fun, and it's remarkably accurate. I borrowed a friend's egg timer like this because I seemed to have forgotten how to hard boil eggs, and decided to order one for myself. Con: What I received is not egg shaped, it is ROUND. Granted, it's just another cross-section of an egg. What I wanted is what is shown on the item page, EGG-SHAPED. That's what was ordered. Also, the item is all scuffed up despite being sealed in packaging. This is a small item. It functions. AND it should have been what I ordered and it should have been in perfect shape. I am keeping it, I feel guilty complaining.

It is just what I needed. Mine didn't work anymore so I needed a new one.

I tried doing it on my own for a long time, but every time I did it, I always ended up with green overcooked eggs. I'm the kind of guy who needs to have 6 eggs a day, 5 dozen eggs every two weeks. Every Sunday I prep my food for the week and that includes boiling 30 eggs at once. If I am going to eat this many eggs, I would like to have them in a way that makes it easy for me to enjoy and in an instant for a quick filling meal. I did some minor research and found this egg timer. They are exactly as described, but the instructions should be followed carefully. Before using, it's really important to boil this product alone, without the eggs, at least twice. I believe this really sets the standard for the egg timer to understand the environment. Never place in cold water after taking out from the boiling water. I feel like there are elements in this timer that are in "mood rings." Mood rings use temperature to change color and when you run it under cold water all of a sudden, it changes to all these different colors and messes it up. When I boil my eggs, I add the timer, add the eggs around it, and then add the cold water going about an inch higher than the eggs. I have a glass top stove that I set to medium-high heat UNCOVERED. I check on it every 5-10 minutes until the egg timer is completely WHITE. I've done this for several weeks and my eggs are perfect everytime. I love to have that perfect hard yellow on the inside. I imagine this would make for those perfect deviled eggs that I never have time to create. I am very grateful for the invention of this product and that I can cook amazing eggs every Sunday!

After just a couple uses, I noticed a strong melting plastic smell that got worse with each use. I’ve only used it six times and now it is split at the seam. I should have looked at some of the older negative reviews. This was a waste of money. An obvious manufacturing issue.

Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Wir haben den Egg Timer bereits länger in Benutzung. Klar, je nach Ei-Größe muss man die Eier etwas vor oder nach den Strichen rausholen (da wir Eier vom umliegenden Bauern holen, sind die Eier mal klein, mal riesig), aber den Dreh bekommt man raus. Die Rezensionen darüber, dass der Timer mit der Zeit milchig und somit schlechter lesbar wird, ist logisch. Da setzt sich eben Kalk von den Eiern ab - reinigen und fertig. Ich verstehe nicht wieso deshalb die ein oder andere Person dafür Punktabzug gibt. Da kann ja der Timer auch nicht viel für. :) Wir nutzen ihn wirklich sehr oft und können uns nicht beschweren.
