AIMOS USB Multimedia Controller and Input Device Volume Control Knob(PC, Mac)

I really like this controller - it is solid, well-designed, and uses quality components. It is relatively easy to program, although the manual does not explain it well. You can program it using nothing but Notepad (a text editor that comes with Windows), and assign any of 200+ possible actions to different controller inputs. Just search the Web for the terms "usb vfo knob setup" and you will find the necessary information.Highly recommended to anyone who wants a quality rotary controller that can simplify a multitude of tasks with your computer.

I just received this, so I can’t speak to the longevity of the device. What I can tell you is it operates very smoothly and precisely. It has a ALPS potentiometer which I have always liked. I have a SMSL SU-8 & SH-8 connected to my laptop and I hated not having a physical volume control and this works very well and the quality is apparent.

This thing is a work of art to see. Heavy aluminum knob, aluminum base with bluelight and rubber padded desk cushion. But after just a month or so of use, the underlying control began to wobble. Now the control itself doesn't even work. Very disappointing, esp for the price.UPDATE:These guys are great! I let them know my controller wasn't working and they immediately sent me a replacement. It's working great. Has an entirely different feel to it.

Device works great until your computer goes to sleep. Then to get it to work again, you have to unplug and replug.I have had this issue with other column control devices so it may be Macs in general?

I use a 'refurbished' Windows 10 PC for my internet surfing. By the specs it should be a very good PC but there is something amiss with either the hard drive or Windows such that it often 'hangs' and does not respond to mouse clicks (meanwhile the drive light is on). The mouse tracks but clicking does not select. Often, when a web page includes a video the video opens with the volume too loud and trying to adjust or mute the volume via the speaker icon or video volume slider is useless. This volume control has come to my rescue. It works every time even when my PC is 'hung' while the hard drive is doing whatever (very annoying!). I am very pleased with this volume control.

Do not be fooled by other reviews saying these can be programmed to perform other functions. This device only does volume. I spent days trying.

The media could not be loaded. I have a late 2015 iMac running Big Sur. Depending on my needs, I alternate between my wired Sony MRD-7506 that's plugged into a headphone amp or my Airpod Pros. I wanted a way to fine tune my volume level for my Airpods. The Kensington software for my trackball was not doing it and the volume adjustment with steermouse was too fast or slow. This AIMOS USB Volume knob does the job. I just plugged in the unit to my USB hub and it just worked. Also, there was no need to unplug my 3.5mm audio jack from the back of the iMac. Once the Mac senses the Airpods, the volume knob will turn on and adjust the volume. It's a one to one match with the increments on the keyboard. The volume know is smooth and not ratcheted so for me that's a big plus.The whole unit is made of aluminum and the base is heavy and does not move around. I am very happy with this purchase.

I use this with my Windows 10 PC. It is particularly helpful when I am gaming and cannot easily reach the software volume controls. There is no setup involved. Just plug it into an open USB port. Build quality is great. It has a great feel to it. It has a good weight to it which helps keep it in place on my desk.
