Was this the reason? Maybe. I replaced my balun with this one after an Ice Storm. I now get 6-8 channels more than before. It did something for sure. Definitely well built but relatively expensive.

As an audiophile and vidiophile, I've been using the legendary Channel Master 4228 OTA outside antenna for 16 years. Then, one day, I realized that my OTA picture screen has consistent pixilation. OTA picture comes in but breaks up with interference. Called Channel Master's tech support, and troubleshooted with Brad, their senior tech. As a result, There's been additional interference in recent years with the addition to 5G, 4G, etc from cell towers. This would be a good time to replace my original balun, made out of plastic (16 years old) with a new Channel Master CM-3203 High Performance Outdoor Balun Matching Transformer Deluxe. In addition, this would be an ideal time to add the CM-7777HD Amplify Adjustable Gain TV Antenna Preamplifier with LTE Filter, and the deluxe balun, this was the solution and solved my issue. Couldn't be happier. Much thanks to Brad, a true professional technician and huge asset at Channel Master. Again, couldn't be happier. After scanning, I'm now pulling in 52 channels with superior picture quality. Native non-compressed HD Channels are stunning and sensational, and indeed outperforms the signal from satellite compression BTW, shipped directly from Channel Master via 2nd Day Air, at no additional up-charge. Thank you Channel Master. Worth every penny~!

I have a small Winegard Freevision antenna on the roof that was working fine for a few years - but seemingly overnight my tv started having issues with pixelation on channel 30-1. I thought initially the problem was related to a change at the TV station because they had to reduce their broadcast power due to some FCC regulation. But weeks later I noticed the other stronger stations were also pixelating ever so slightly. So things seemed to be worsening. So I took a chance on the simplest fix- replacing the balun. This seemed to do the trick. I am no longer seeing pixelation even on channel 30-1 and the only change was the balun. Money well spent! Hope this balun holds up better than the flimsy one that came with the antenna!

Much more robust and higher quality construction. Provides a great, high quality picture. Coupled this with a Channel Master lightning arrestor, and then encased in heat shrink. This should provide many years of service. I would highly recommend Channel Master products.

I thought my channel master would have caught more channels . I The channels go on and off . Some days I catch up to 20 channels but most of the time it might be 5 channels and the pic freezes or just goes off.

Didn't work so great when we first put it in.We were going to replace it, but check the connections.And we had to send a little corrosion on our antenna.Now it works great thanks agai

Old balun was…….old, waterlogged, non functional. Replaced with this one and TV works fine. I’m pleased.
