Counter-insurgency on a shoestring
A relatively concise description of the non-communist settler dominated military airmobile counter-insurgency campaign that was innovative if ultimately overwhelmed by numbers and money of communist supported forces. Not enough background on the political and civil situation in Rhodesia during this period.

Excellent book!
Possibly a small footnote in 20th century history, but an interesting subject nevertheless.I really appreciate this book! Well written, fair/unjudgemental. On the same level as JRT Wood's work about recent Rhodesian history.Well worth reading!!!

Research
Nothing new to me but it was an honest narrative without any exaggeration. The writer explained a unique mode of warfare quite clearly

Fascinating Insights
A well explained insight into COIN ops during the Rhodesian bush war. Recommended for any student of African bush wars but would not be out of place in military colleges.

Rapid reaction fits force.
A great read for those who wish to know how innovative and complext the co-operation between various branches of the military was to make the fireforce principle a success.
