Wen delivers again! If your looking to engrave pretty much any material and not break the bank doing so I highly recommend this product. I read some reviews where people were having trouble getting the carbide tip to stay in the tool, it may be because they didn’t realize the tool comes with the set screw in already but they also provide a replacement screw. It is a little loud but it’s also a power tool so noise is expected. I’ve only used it to engrave about 10 things so far so I can’t speak on the durability but it seems well made. I’d definitely recommend this engraver

I was unable to secure the bit into the collet. Inserting the bit into the collet, the end of the bit stops before reaching the set screw hole. Installing the set screw, it turns less than two complete times before bottoming out on something and the bit just falls out of the collet. BUT here is the trick, thanks to the great customer service representative whom I reached by phone: there is a set screw already screwed all the way into the collet! Not obvious, but all I had to do was remove the pre-installed set screw, place the bit into the collet and tighten the screw. The set screw provided in the little plastic bag with the bit and Allen key is a SPARE screw!

Has depth control and separate on/off switch so you can keep same depth setting between work sessions. Tip seems very hard/sharp and is writing on metal easily. Included stencils are good, though I can see they might wear out over time, but great starter set included. All I had to do is use the included allen wrench to install the tip in the engraver and go.

This engraver is a solid product that works well at a great price. I needed it to overwrite engraving on some stereo equipment. I returned the first one I received because I thought the engraver tip would not lock in place with the provided screw. It turns out there was already a screw in the engraver that I needed to loosen to lock the tip. This was total user error. The engraver works just as it's supposed to. Just be aware that the screw in the package is a backup with the primary one already installed. I totally recommend this product.

After having this for awhile, on it’s probably 20th brief use the switch broke. I fixed by soldering the connection together. So I still have use, just not as convenient. Disappointed in the quality.

Once again, WEN has delivered a fantastic product. The WEN Engraver is exactly what I was hoping for. It’s easy to handle, lightweight, and comfortable to use, even for longer projects. Do not make a mistake and think you might get something functional out of this. The day of package arrival I called and was placed on automated wait list. The customer service representative who answered after 40 minutes, transferred me after detailed description to a person who seemed surprised to find they were tasked with hearing the manufacturing failure. The supplied pin is unable to fasten by set screw after insert into the collet because it was emplaced by press fit too far down onto the vibrating piston. The set screw dead ends into the piston and there is no way to hold the pin. No replacement parts are available they said. The vendor then lied about sending 2 replacements instead, 1 month later nothing is here. This is a SCAM to sell defective and unrepairable products. They lie to avoid taking responsibility. I have never given such a bad review of both USA CS people and product, but if there was a way to rank ZERO on both then PLEASE LISTEN - do not trust wenproducts.com, and BUY NOTHING THERE.
